The original Bladerunner occurred in a future Los Angeles circa 2019. Civilization had collapsed, but because no one put up a sign saying so, people went about their business - much like LA today.

The streets are lined with makeshift tents and shelters like you NEVER see in a modern functional civilization. People do not speak a common language, but the Tyrell Corp is still very much in business.

I was in LA not too long ago. I bought a bottle of Kentucky Owl bourbon for $400 and a 35 year-old single grain for $200.

If that's the end of the world, I'm all for it!

If they wanted to really make Bladerunner prophetic dystopias, there'd be hot-ass replicants having sex with all the men!

Yes, we would all die, but it would be worth it.

Wisconsin and Minnesota liquor is even cheaper, and closer.
