Although he is still president, the robbery is not in his official capacity. If during the commission of the crime, China invades Tiwan and fires on a US ship, his reaction to counter attack would be in his official capacity.

Lets say a POTUS is sitting in the White House and they choose to call the SOS of a state and ask them to find a very specific number of votes. Would that be in his official capacity?
 
You seem to not understand what impeachment is.

When a bill to impeach is filed, clears committee and voted on to go the the floor of the house, then the gains approval by a majority of the House members. That is impeachment. That happened twice with FPOTUS45 Trump.

When a bill to impeach is filed, stalls in committee and doesn't got to the House floor for a general vote. That is not impeachment. That's where we are with POTUS46.

Being able to read and understand what your own link it telling you is something both DEMs and GOPs should understand.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor did not hold back in her dissent.

“Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his official power for evil ends. Because if he knew that he may one day face liability for breaking the law, he might not be as bold and fearless as we would like him to be. That is the majority’s message today. Even if these nightmare scenarios never play out, and I pray they never do, the damage has been done. The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.”

I'm failing to see how she's wrong. I have thought for a while that the office of the Presidency was quite literally above the law, as they are essentially the boss of the AG and the DoJ, with Biden being the perfect example. How many laws does this man have to break? In my mind, the SCOTUS ruling today confirms these suspicions.

/—-/ As chief law enforcer in the country, he’s responsible to insure a fair election. And, democRATs always manage to find bags of ballots that weren’t tallied at the last minute to win an election. Are you saying those democRATs were committing crimes?

Speaking to the VP while still POTUS.....Official act.

Obama declaring a US Citizen a terrorist and killing him without trial.....Official act.

Giving a campaign speech, while President - not an official act.

Encouraging the VP to ignore his Constitutional duties so that he can steal an election - not an official act.

There is nothing normal about any US citizen being above the law
And thus the problem with this ruling, what is an "official action" becomes a matter of opinion.

This is what puts them above the law.

This is why you all will one day regret giving the POTUS basically unlimited immunity when it is not the guy you worship taking advantage of it
It’s not an opinion when the court rules on it it becomes law
