First of all do you even understand what a write-off is? It doesn't mean it's money you get to deduct from your income taxes. It just means you don't pay taxes on the money you spent.

In other words if I buy a furnace for one of my apartments for $3,000, I don't get that $3,000 from the government. It simply means that I don't pay taxes on that $3,000 I spent. It doesn't amount to very much. I still had to spend that $3,000 out of my pocket.

No business is going to move an entire company overseas because of the pittance they get to deduct for their moving expenses. And as the article points out, no reputable economist with any sense will state that removing such a deduction will make any difference. A company will move with or without that measly deduction.

It's more of the Democrats putting on their dog and pony show to try and say they did something when in fact, they did nothing to address the problem.

Instead, they want to drastically increase minimum wage which would be a real consideration for a company on the border of staying here or moving overseas. The same goes with Commie Care.

If it costs a company 1 million dollars to move overseas, and they save $200,000 in taxes they don't have to pay, they are still out $800,000. So this tax benefit you speak of doesn't exist. Companies are not going to lose $800,000 unless they can make that back and more. And they do so with corporate tax savings, avoiding unions and unaffordable labor, and regulations that grow every single year.

What we really need to do is make it more inviting for businesses to stay here or come here, not uninviting as this administration has and blame it on some phony tax cuts that don't exist. And increasing minimum wage only inflates all other wages. Forcing those companies to provide healthcare and paid maternity leave are straws that break the camels back.
