What law would slow outsourcing? As I've already proven, it's certainly not tax breaks for moving expenses, and that's the only tax breaks companies get if they decide to move. Or are you suggesting that we create laws forcing people to stay here like the former USSR; just don't allow them to leave the country?

There is only one way to stop moving jobs overseas or outsourcing, and that is change the mood of the public. Companies cater to their customers, and because American customers always want "cheaper" then companies will do whatever it takes to satisfy that demand. It's not up to politicians, it's up to us, the consumers.

But even if that were possible, we have a much bigger threat to jobs in America today, and that is automation. We are creating machines to do our work for us so less workers are needed. In 50 years or so, manual labor will be as much of a thing of the past as unions are today unless we do something about it right now. We need to discourage companies from investing in automation, and that means working for less money. If we tax the hell out of machines that take jobs away from Americans, it only encourages companies to move overseas for cheap labor.
