Donald Trump again offends a minority group by pissing off the Cherokee nation, whose chief John Baker just said that Trump should focus on poverty and other issues instead of calling Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas.

Baker said Trump should instead focus on issues that harm Native Americans, including the inability to prosecute non-Indians who commit certain crimes on native lands, poverty, lack of health care and the lack of job opportunities that disproportionately affect Native Americans.

Both this guy and Elizabeth Warren look pretty white to me.

Bbbut they have high cheekbones

Why would anyone brag about being part indian? Indians are america's biggest losers - drugs, crime, poverty and welfare. They're worse than blacks. Blacks can at least play sports. Injuns are good at nothing

Warren lying about her heritage is more offensive than anything Trump said.
Why isn't the Cherokee chief offended then?

As far as I know more than this band and this Chief are offended about Warren's hijacking of a position that should have gone to a minority. Check out the editorial at Indian Country. Warren gets ripped to pieces in it.

All Chief Baker is saying is pay attention to our true issues instead of calling Warren Pocahontas.

Just an FYI, Trump has met with several bands already to try to get a grip on their concerns.

LOL. The chief of a dying nation in exile (that should have been wiped out), is not who I'd be listening to about political philosophy.

The richest First Nations tribe in America pays out a million dollars a year to each band member. Their two casinos rake in a billion a year. Not bad eh? This is a tribe that got off the dole, off their pity wagon and have become monumentally over the top successful.

The Shakopee Mdewakanton tribe have kicked butt over the years. So much depends on the band leadership and council. This tribe looked forward instead of backwards and have accomplished the American dream.

It's a great read. I wish other First Nations people would follow in their footsteps.

Inside the richest native American tribe in the U.S. where casino profits pay $1m a year to EVERY member
  • Payouts coming out of the money the Shakopee Mdewakanton Tribe makes through its highly profitable casinos
  • About 460 people live within the tribe
  • Between Mystic Lake and the Little Six Casino - tribal revenues are thought to be nearly $1.4billion

All that "profit" comes from taxpayer subsidies. And besides, gambling is a negative industry. If we're gonna help injuns start a business, it should be a useful business. One that makes cars or houses or guns or something of value. THINK

I wonder how many Chiefs they went through before they found one that would say what they wanted in the little spot on the map called Talequah OK?

Edit: whoever wrote the caption for the photo in the OP should have known that "Chief" should be capitalized.
