Christian baker not backing down after Gov't punishes him for refusing to make gay wedding cake

Amid the religious liberty cases increasingly heading to the courts, there’s one prominent legal battle that could potentially have some sweeping ramifications: Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. It’s a case that surrounds baker Jack Phillips and his Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado. Phillips, much like Oregon bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein and numerous other wedding venders across the U.S.,

Well good for them standing their grounds on their beliefs..................
Go to another cake maker who doesn't give a rats ass would have been much simpler.
If I were to believe as they do because it was against my religion to do so I'd do the same dam thing I sure in the hell wouldn't cower down to some BS LAWS where just because some moron made it a law etc doesn't mean it is a fair nor right law.

And this is why Gorsuch is now on the court.....

If he is a public baker he needs to bake that cake. We can't be prejudice on who we wait on or serve when our door is open to the public.

You don't surrender your 1st Amendment Rights when you open a business.....

Take your candy queer ass to a baker who does want to serve you

Plenty of snowflakes on both sides of the aisle. No one is asking this baker to support anything. He is not giving them anything for free. He is not attending the wedding. He bakes a cake and delivers it. He gets paid more than it cost to bake the cake. End of transaction.
They could have easily said can we have a cake made and sent someone to pick it up.

Walking in the same building where a wedding reception will take place is the problem? lol Ok.

It's not about the cake, it's about faggot's pushing their psychosis on everyone.

Oh? How are the gay couple pushing anything on anyone? No one is required to attend the wedding. Them being married does not effect anyone else. The laws require that businesses not discriminate. Bake the cake, take the money, and tell yourself that you have made a gay couple a little poorer.

Doing anything I do not want to do is a problem. You opened the door to compel people to be at someone else demand. That is not what owning your own business or property is all about. I rented a house I owned to a black and white couple. Other people had a problem with that but they didn't own the house I did. Fascist don't seem to get that liberty and freedom of choice part about owning your own small business or being the owner of real property.

A man puts a knife to a woman's throat. He forces her to have sex. He puts twenty dollars in her hand. She made a profit. End of transaction.

The Masterpiece Bakery case is different. As a result of the court action. The bakery was to stop discriminating and file quarterly reports as to each wedding cake request. Jack Phillips, the baker complied, fully complied. He refuses all wedding cakes and dutifully filed his quarterly reports. He still masterfully decorates cakes. Just not wedding cakes.

Fine, change the laws concerning businesses discriminating. Your argument is with the lawmakers, not gays. And certainly not with the couple getting married.

And just because you own a business does not mean you are free from doing anything you don't want to do.

You may not want to pay your employees at least minimum wage. But you have to anyway.
You may not want to have Workers Comp for your employees. But you have to anyway.
You may not want to pay into the unemployment pot. But you have to anyway.
YOu may not want to pay taxes. But you have to anyway.
You may not want to offer your services to everyone when you have a business open to the public. But you have to anyway.

Someone I know does beautiful artwork. They got a call to do a gigantic dick once and turn that job down. Per these folks a person should be force to comply in any given situation if they work anywhere for anyone in a private business setting.

If he is a public baker, he will shut up and bake the cake.
The problem is that Christians are too nice.

Publish the couple's name and address. Take the profit from the cake and donate part to Focus on the Family and part to Westboro Church. Get their names on every anti gay mailing list.

In fact, why not invite Westboro to protest the reception. The baker certainly knows where that will be.

Shut up, bake the cake and get your revenge in blood. When all choices have been taken from you. Revenge is the option left.

What the snow flakes on the far right don't get is that Gorsuch will uphold PA laws on both precedent and privilege of legislature to determine such matters.

They have every right to do that, but when in business publicly, shut up and bake the cake. Who cares what they do outside of business hours.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

No one is establishing a state religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The baker is not doing anything but baking and selling them a cake. Refusing a customer, in a business open to the public, is a violation of antidiscrimination laws.

It's not rape. It's a business transaction. She was paid.

The baker was likewise raped. He was also required to perform a service that he did not want to perform.

He got paid for doing something he didn't want to do.

The article linked in the OP talked about the battle based on the original charges. If he stopped making wedding cakes, he will not be in violation of the laws against discrimination if he refuses to make wedding cakes for everyone.

Neither baking nor gay weddings are felony offenses. Try again.

But your claim that the baker was raped is simply sick.

If the gay had walked into a bakery and asked to buy a cake I would agree with you. That's not what happened. It was a separate transaction outside of the place of business.

Perhaps this is just a case for doing what you have to do and take revenge.

So the baker making a cake and designing it would be the same. Each an individual new product. I do artwork many as the same but each work is an individual piece of its own.
