Rome was in power, they squashed the civil war of the Jews in Judea and northern Israel. Many Jews lived in Rome and Alexander , so Rome created a new religion to include all gentiles and Jews. Judea and Northern Israel were in the Roman Empire and it was a major trade route, they wanted peace.
