Comparing the AR with other Legal Firearms

When comparing the Assault Rifle and other legal firearms, the Assault Rifle 15 fires bullets at such a high velocity — often in a barrage of 30 or even 100 in rapid succession — that it can eviscerate multiple people in seconds. A single bullet lands with a shock wave intense enough to blow apart a skull and demolish vital organs

CAVITATION...WOUND CHANNEL.... SHOCK WAVE..
THIS ONE WILL VAPORIZE A VARMINT... DO NOT LET THESE LIARS TELL YOU THIS WEAPON IS UNDERPOWERED

Gunnutters put up your dukes and let's get down to it!

Comparing the AR with other Legal Firearms

When comparing the Assault Rifle and other legal firearms, the Assault Rifle 15 fires EUGENE STONER said this..

"There is the advantage that a small or light bullet has over a heavy one when it comes to wound ballistics. … What it amounts to is the fact that bullets are stabilized to fly through the air, and not through water, or a body, which is approximately the same density as the water. And they are stable as long as they are in the air. When they hit something, they immediately go unstable. … If you are talking about .30-caliber [like a bullet used in the Army’s previous M-14], this might remain stable through a human body. … While a little bullet, being it has a low mass, it senses an instability situation faster and reacts much faster. … this is what makes a little bullet pay off so much in wound ballistics.”

I remember one other thing about that story. Everyone I interviewed about these weapons at the time—the AR-15, its bastard offspring M-16, the opposing AK-47—assumed as a first premise that they were talking about battlefield equipment. None of them seemed to imagine such killing power in civilian hands.

Then stop poking yourself with that sharp stick.
Lmao!

Just for the record.....After years of complaints from the Army and Marines about the 5.56 they have just shifted to a more powerful round and a different weapons platform.

All have been linked to on the thread and you have either reacted to it and replied to it.

'nuff said.

For each pull of a trigger, not it doens't but pull that trigger 120 times or more and it's the clear winner. You are a Cult AR Member.
32 shot and 4 dead with what appears to be a handgun:

“Special Agents did not recover any high-powered rifle ammunition at the scene; however, they did recover numerous shell casings used in handguns. Investigators are still processing all of the evidence, in conjunction with completing interviews, in an effort to solidify a motive and potential suspects.”

Nope, you don't have a clue. This has been talked about for years. The reason that the 6.8 can be used is that it's a simple change to make it usable in a stock M-16. It uses the same basic cartridge (same diameter and length) but it isn't necked down nearly as much as the 556. The two weapons that are being completely replaced is the M-4 and the M-249 not the M-16. But this has zero to do with the AR. You are just throwing more BS into the Ballgame. The change was suppose to happen in 2022 but has yet to be done as it's expensive, damned expensive and the front line forces are still using the older weapons.

The reason that the 6.8 is going to be used isn't killing power but stability and it's more accurate at 400 to 600 yds which the 556 isn't. That same instability of the 556 is the reason it does so much damage when striking human targets.

Now, get back under that rock, gunnutter.

The XM5 Rifle will replace the M4/M4A1 carbine within the close combat force, and the XM250 Automatic Rifle is the planned replacement for the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon

Both weapons provide significant capability improvements in accuracy, range and overall lethality. They are lightweight, fire more lethal ammunition, mitigate recoil, provide improved barrel performance, and include integrated muzzle sound and flash reduction.

Both weapons fire common 6.8 millimeter ammunition utilizing government provided projectiles and vendor-designed cartridges. The new ammunition includes multiple types of tactical and training rounds that increase accuracy and are more lethal against emerging threats than both the 5.56mm and 7.62mm ammunition.

You say something about being under a rock?

You have anywhere from 45 to 90 seconds to get it done. The changing of the mags is extremely important.

We're talking about civilians here not trained military. The most important metric regarding the number killed is police response time not fractional seconds of magazine change times.

And since almost every mass shooting so far this year had under 10 casualties it's pretty obvious these shooters aren't making multiple magazine changes.

Once again the facts are your enemy.

The M-16 isn't part of that equation. The M-4 is as well as the M249. The M-4 is the close combat rifle. And the change has yet to happen.

Your specious claims are directly contradicted by the military.

From Army Times:
"The Army chose the 6.8 mm round following the publication of the 2017 Small Arms Ammunition Configuration Study. The study was driven in part by advances in adversary body armor and field reports of underperformance and lackluster lethality for the 5.56 mm round at distances beyond 300 meters in Afghanistan gun battles."

Again, they had somewhere between 45 to 90 seconds (except for Texas) before they were stopped cold. To give you an idea on what works, we had a 17 year old walking towards a school yard. He had his Dad's AR-15 and 4 30 round mags under a rain slicker. He was spotted by an old lady who saw him outside her windows. Within 45 seconds, there were 5 cops surrounding him with drawn and cocked guns. After we had 3 major body count shootings, stopping the shooter before they can get into the school is paramount. What's sad is, the Cult keeps turning these fools out and about once a month, another shooter is stopped before they can get into the school.

We had 3 school shootings before we changed our laws. And these were to run up the body count of at least 17 dead with one nearly 50 dead and 200 wounded. The windows is 45 to 90 seconds. If you are going for the record, mag changes ARE important. And you sickos keep; sending those shooters to attempt at killing our children.

Yet, it's not in the hands of the grunts in the fields yet. No where has any of you gunnutters extend this to the AR and high body count mass murders in schools and churches.

The Army recently announced that the Next Generation Squad Weapon, the XM5 rifle and XM250 light machine gun will replace the M4/M16 rifle and the 249 light machine gun, with some Soldiers expected to receive the weapons by the fourth quarter of 2023. New Hampshire-based weapons manufacturer Sig Sauer was awarded the contract.

You and the other goofball were going on and on about how powerful and damaging the 5.56 round was.

Of course not. Usually the Army rolls out new equipment to combat units first and not all at once.

I suppose the above was to tacitly acknowledge that none of your hysterical rant was factual.
