Kudos to Senate Republicans for voting to pay the nation's bills. Kudos to them for standing up to the Koch Brothers and Freedom Works, and leading the House out of the wilderness. It is very rare for Republicans to stand up to the concentrated money which funds the Tea Party. It's nice to see some moral and political courage in a party which punishes dissent. The Tea Party only caused losses of 24 billion dollars with the shutdown, but it could have been worse. Thank you John McCain and Lindsey Graham, and congratulation for getting the President to keep the CR, which reflects Republican Spending Levels. This way you can get a huge compromise without having to call it a compromise. This is a political victory.

???!!!

This is a political victory ???!!!

Obama had them in a corner. They were trying to destroy a law that survived two elections, passed through the legislative process and withstood a supreme court challenge. They were trying to use every trick in the book to overturn the results of two elections. The Democrats were able to pass this law because more Americans voted for Obama and the Affordable Care Act. Obama should have used this victory to get a budget resolution with the spending levels he originally wanted, but he has been fooled into taking the CR, which reflects republican spending levels. The spending levels of the Sequester (Continuing Resolution) is a loss for Obama and the Democrats; it represents a major compromise . . . but Republican Media never mentions this compromise, so they can take the victory while at the same time saying that Obama won't compromise. Brilliant. Political victory.

I agree that the status quo is an ongoing victory for the Republicans.
However, history made them think that Obama would back down over anything and they over-reached.
The sequester mess last year has probably hardened Obama and he realises that there's no way of achieving reasonable compromise with them.
This particular event has been an unmitigated loss for the GOP because, not only have they suffered a humiliating loss and internal ructions, they've also shown the president that they can be stared down.

The RINO in Chief, the big Pork Kahuna old Mitch McConnell took a 2 BILLION dollar deal for his pet project in Kentucky.

You can thank Mitch for the surrender.

They only voted to kick the can down the road and a little pork for McConnell. That's status quo.

Which is exactly what needed to happen. The Leftytoons and Rightyloons are both a bunch of useless politicians. And nothing will ever change because the voters are all spineless pussies. So let em' keep kicking it on down. At least until after I am dead.

here we go, two weeks of bitching, now another couple weeks of high and mighty gloating and how Obama is, the one, the man, the god of all human kind, the king, blaaa blaaa blaaaa

Looks like we are finding out more and more that Dimocrats simply do not care about debt, they are more than eager to continue to kick the can down the road endlessly.

And you get the typical progressive response, the problem is "solved," who cares about what happens in the future, I'M GETTING MY GOODIES NOW!!!

They fall for the economic and political equivalent of a non-clauswitizan peace all the time.

For the uninformed, a Clauswitizian peace is RESOLUTION of Conflict, not the ending of conflict, which is often merely a ceasefire.

For example WWI was the end of a conflict, WWII resulted in the RESOLUTION of a conflict, which was caused by German Militarism and desired expansionism to the East.

Steve Israel admitted he voted against the debt ceiling several times and wouldn't say if he regretted his vote. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Maybe now's the time for the red states to secede again. They don't seem to want to be part of the other developed countries that provide health care for their citizens. You guys could get rid of regulations and taxes, pollute your own states all you want, low wages, even bring back slavery!!! Vladimir Putin could be an advisor for you.

So the Tea Partys shut down didn't cost the economy 24 billion. It cost the economy 26 billion. Ah whats a few billion among political cronies. But you know those folks from KY are gonna send Mitch the Turtle back to the Senate. He brings home the bacon. Oink oink.

And the Repubs (all of them, they said so.) are so intent on cutting government spending.

How come Randy Paul isn't on FOX just banging on Mitch for doing his own pork deal?
