Lots of ideas here on how to react to situations that have gotten out of hand. How about the mental health aspect since violence in the young is on the rise and we need some prevention of problems to begin with. Test students to see if they have mental problems early on before they get out of hand, and maybe treatments with counseling, and certain types of drugs if needed. Even have special schools for certain youth that show a tendency toward violence. I know some states have this but obviously not enough. Certainly the case for Florida. Treatment is expensive and so are psychotropic drugs so maybe take some of these drugs off the for profit list, making them available for those that need them, even if the government has to control these drugs to keep prices reasonable.

He easily purchased the AK 15 with which he killed 17 people in 3 minutes. It is the gun that is the real problem. People all over the world have mental problems: mass shootings like this occur only in America, the country with far more guns per person than any other in the world. It is the access to guns that is the problem.

That is ridiculous. There are THOUSANDS of AR-15s in this nation and thev have been used illegally. The mentally ill must be treated and controlled, not the weapon.
