The Cult of Trump, formerly the GOP, are as guilty as Trump for inciting and supporting the 6Jan21 insurrection and attempted coup against our nation. They are traitors, one and all;

Take your meds Biden Loon

OP is old and bitter and hates his life. He's lashing out now and projecting that white hot rage.

Any body watch the video? Were the rioters peaceful and acting like normal tourists in the capitol, like any other day?
I suspect these people didn't watch it. They'll see the "MSNBC" logo on the screen and they know to avoid the video entirely, as instructed.

So how many of them have seen the video that clearly puts a lie to what they're saying? I'd love to know that. Those who have probably dismiss the rioters as "BLM/Antifa", as instructed, even though many of the perpetrators have since been identified as something else.

In fairness, and in all seriousness, my guess is that the followers are not lying. I do believe that they believe most of what they say.

What we have here is a true group pathology the world hasn't seen in 85 years. It again surrounds one man, and it again maintains because he has key people who protect and enable him. The crowd, the mob, are simply following the pathology as they have been for five years.

The biggest and most dangerous difference between now and then is that then, the mob learned the truth virtually overnight and quickly began the long process of recovery. Today, the same support mechanism -- the alternate information universe -- remains, as strong as ever. This may be unprecedented.
I disagree. The "crazy" has been there for decades. Saw it after 9/11 and it got really powerful with Palin and the Tea Baggers.

Trump just harnessed it cynically

No, I agree with that. Trump was the spark that the alternate universe was waiting on. Of all freakin' people.

The question is the definition of "crazy". Are people who are lost in an ideology, a group pathology, "crazy"? Look at history. Were those people crazy? Me, I think the two are separate things.

Sure, there are exceptions, but as a rule...

Trump has definitely weaponized divisiveness.. That's not your father's GOP.
define "weaponized divisiveness"
Trump's "America First" policies gained many democrat union voters, especially those in manufacturing and energy
My father's "globalist" GOP kept losing, like McCain and Romney.

The GOP had better clean it up or they will continue to lose.

Excerpt:

We occupy different worlds'
The style in which Trump and Obama are prolonging their long-distance tussle over America's future encapsulated the vastly difference experience of their presidencies that played out over the last 12 years.

Obama, in a sit-down interview, was temperate and spoke in well-sculpted paragraphs. Trump delivered his new assault in a rambling 90-minute screed at a political event that previews a new round of summer swing state rallies.

Still, Obama has become far more outspoken about the toxicity that he sees as taking over the Republican Party than he was in while in power. The 44th President had originally planned to stay out of politics after his two terms in office ended, but he was so alarmed by Trump's behavior that he decided to speak his mind. No modern president has ever made such strident warnings that the core of American democracy is under threat, as he did for instance during the Democratic convention last year.

While Republicans argue that the former Illinois senator was hyper-political himself and did not live up to his own calls for unity, events have proven the 44th President's warnings as prescient. After all his successor denied his election loss, brought a mob to Washington that destroyed America's tradition of peaceful transfers of power and Republicans nationwide have tried to remove the guardrails that confirmed Biden's election as president.

"We occupy different worlds. And it becomes that much more difficult for us to hear each other, see each other," Obama said on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."

He blamed the root causes of the country's deep divisions on economic and racial "stratification" and the siloing of the media that means that millions of Americans only hear news that suits their politics.

"We occupy different worlds. And it becomes that much more difficult for us to hear each other, see each other," Obama told Cooper.

It is clear that bitter experience and what would once have been seen as unthinkable political turmoil in modern America have scorched the worldview of the man who as a youthful Illinois Senate candidate wowed the nation with his career-making assurance that there is not a "liberal America and a conservative America" or a "Black America, a White America" but "there is the United States of America."

'It can happen here'
Trump has never subscribed to the ideal of unity Obama invoked at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. His political method weaponizes division, makes a virtue of chaos and distills grievance into power.

"Bad, bad things are happening to us, perhaps like never before," the most recent ex-President said in North Carolina. He argued that radical leftists are destroying American freedom. "They want to silence you, they want to silence your voice," Trump told his supporters.

By unveiling a Senate race endorsement for North Carolina Rep. Ted Budd -- who voted not to certify Biden's election win -- Trump made clear the price for his support in a party he still dominates is full fealty to his election fraud lies -- and that endorsement only came after his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, decided against running. Trump last month ordered Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California to kill a bill setting up a bipartisan, independent commission to probe the Capitol riot.

His former national security adviser Michael Flynn recently agreed that the US needed a coup like Myanmar, an impoverished nation long suppressed by a dystopian military dictatorship where pro-democracy advocates are imprisoned, and peaceful protestors are shot and tortured. He later tried to deny he said what he said, even though it was on tape.

A rare Republican with the courage to stand up to Trump, Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, was stripped of her third-ranking GOP leadership post in the House.

In an appearance on David Axelrod's "Axe Files" podcast, Cheney said on Saturday that Trump's incitement of the Capitol insurrection was the "most dangerous thing, the most egregious violation of an oath of office of any president in our history."

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the autocratic transformation of the Republican Party, which once styled itself as the guardian of global democracy, is that it profits from and advances a parallel attack by Washington's former Cold War foe Russia.

As well as the election interference to benefit Trump, US intelligence agencies blame Russia for a flurry of cyberattacks on US government facilities and companies. A fresh spate of ransomware attacks on US infrastructure is also believed to originate in Russia.

The degradation of US democratic standards and the corruption of the political system looks familiar to one of Obama's closest White House aides.

Ben Rhodes, a former deputy national security adviser, just published a new book "After the Fall" that examines the slide into autocracy in nations like Russia and Hungary. He noted that the latter's leader, Viktor Orban, had orchestrated a right-wing populist backlash to the financial crisis, packed the courts with conservative justices and redrawn legislative districts and laws to benefit his voters. Orban also enriched cronies and weaponized a propagandistic media machine while wrapping the entire push in a nationalist bow.

"I'm thinking this sounds like a familiar playbook, it's what I've lived at home," Rhodes told CNN's Bianna Golodryga on CNN International on Monday, referring to Trump's 2016 campaign and presidency.

"On January 6, we learned it can happen here too."

The GOP is just fine thank you. You should see that in 2022 and 2024.
Your link tries to convince GOP voters that since Trump is flawed, to quote General Kelly, his policies must be flawed, which is simply faulty logic.
Trump is NOT divisive, the MSM lies about him are divisive.
The MSM's constant 95% negative reporting about him is divisive.
Nancy's two bullshit impeachments were divisive.
The "Russia Collusion" hoax and bullshit Mueller investigation were divisive.
There are many more, but you get the response.

Democrats are even more divisive, just look at their anti-American policies:
Open Borders and lax immigration policies
Defund the police
Russia First Energy policies
Lax Military posture
The Green New Deal
"Wokeness"
Support of criminals, no bail, etc.
Reprogramed US education system: Critical Race Theory vs Traditional/Family Values
Oppose school vouchers
China First trade policies
Outsourcing jobs by taxing corporations so much they relocate
HR-1 grab for one-party rule
Make DC & PR new states taking over the US senate forever
Replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote
Totally turning the US into a socialist/failed state.
Packing the US Supreme Court with Leftists

Trump has NEVER had any policies. He has jingles and whimsical, fleeting ideas. Same with his failure to ever do his due dilligence for his business.. Of course he was using other people's money there too.

You are simply wrong. Just read thru Trump's "promises kept" list and then look at Xiden's EOs.
Voters in 2022 and 2024 will decide whose policies they prefer.

Promises kept? LOLOL.. Trump is just like Moamar Gaddafi.. He's a grandiose liar and a braggart.

Not to get personal, but "Surada," you are a moron...but only if you take seriously the garbage that you quoted.

No rational, honest observer believes that the November election was legitimate. Democrat operatives in every key state fought to remove all semblance of ballot security, so that phony votes could be cast and there would be no paper trail to prove it. We will never know if the fraud was sufficient to determine the outcome of the election, but the election was compromised, at the very least.

Furthermore, had Trump won under the same circumstances (with Biden winning the mythical "popular vote"), the Democrats would have not only stormed the Capitol on Inauguration Day, they would have done everything conceivable to prevent Trump from being sworn in for his second term.

But one can rest assured that, if that had happened, CNN and the Associated Press would be congratulating the "demonstrators" for fighting for "democracy."

If you assemble all the rotten, low down people in the US, 85% of them will be Democrats.

Wake up.

Red States have the worst.
They may, but it is mostly you on the stage. Emote! ...Emote! We have tens of millions of Americans and tens of millions more on the stage. TheChinese are building the state. They are building the cameras and recording equipment for the TV's. They are building the TV's and the computer screens and the chips for near everything at a high percentage. They manufacture a lot of the products needed for the building around the stage and to use to build it. But yes we are on the stage. And that will provide for all. Guilting people whomay work like jackasses is the most stupid thing to do. Unless there is a political motive.
