Dear "Conservatives"....

I wonder how many who claim they won't vote for Romney really do want Barack Obama to be re-elected? The Paul supporters have to know that a vote for a third party candidate is effectively a vote for Obama. Could they just be too ashamed to admit that is the game plan to punish those who won't support Ron Paul?

And take us down as I'm sure Dr. Paul wouldn't want out of some mission of vendetta...? [Get EVEN with 'em? I'll Show YOU]?

Boggles the mind the motivation. Take down the Republic, ruin millions of lives in the process, because someone didn't get thier way by being nominated?

You mean, the Republicans were willing to throw the entire country into financial chaos over a symbolic debt ceiling limit last year simply because they didn't get their way and it's only just now your mind is boggled?

You weren't boggled when the Republicans refused to extend payroll tax cuts for the poor and middle class because they weren't getting their way over a completely unrelated issue attached to the bill, right up to the last minute?

Paul's vendetta, if there is one, shouldn't come as a surprise...... Even Gingrich held out far beyond a reasonable length of time, racking up debt and taxpayer's expense.....

Debt ceiling is NOT the way prescribed BY the Constitution for budgeting.

The Statist Democrats have been in charge, and WE are 1090+ days past the Constitutional mandate for a budget.

Seems to me the Statist Democrats are ignoring the Constitution and LAW.

You may CEASE in any other criticisms of me in the future.:eusa_hand:

(Or for that matter defending Democrats).

They are in violation and need to held to account. Obama WILL suffer the Consequences...as will both houses.

so you want a Republican defeat but yet you say you're not for obama? you're so full of shit.

What you all are failing to understand is that I don't see any important difference between Romney and Obama. I believe a victory for either of them will be equally damaging to the country. If you can wrap your head around that fact, you might begin to understand - if not agree with - my point of view.

The irony is, six months ago, many of you did agree with me. But one by one you're falling for the 'scare-em-and-fuck-em', 'lesser-of-two-evils' con. It's sad to see, but everyone has their buttons I guess.

well, actually yes it is..

Nonsense. You could equally claim that not voting for Obama is the same as voting for Romney. I've been accused of both.

not nonsense. this is a two man race. You have to pick either Romney or Obama..

No. That's not a fact. Those aren't the rules. I can vote for anyone I want. And I will.

... a vote cast for anyone other than Romney will be a vote for obama. anyone with a hint of gray matter would understand how that works.

Let's take a look at that grey matter...

My sister-in-law is a partisan Democrat. A while back she was going on about what a phony, corporatist hack Romney was. I had to agree with her. She responded, "so, you're voting for Obama then?". Of course, I said no, and she delivered the same kind of nonsense. "If you don't vote for Obama it's the same as voting for Romney."

Is it too much to ask you to see the illogic of that view?

There is nothing wrong with Romney. Why is the left so frantic to say there is? Hmmm?

Here's what's wrong with Romney:

Latest foot-in-mouth quote from yesterday:

"We’ve always encouraged young people: take a shot, go for it, take a risk, get the education, borrow money if you have to from your parents, start a business," Romney said
The Ed Show - Romney tells students to borrow money 'from your parents'

....evidently forgetting that 99% of us don't have dear ol' rich daddy to run to when we need a helping hand. He, along with his cronies, thinks education should be reserved for those who can afford it. He is completely detached from the reality that most Americans face.
I don't think you know the statistics on American families and their average savings, so I will share what I found:

AVERAGE AMOUNT OF HOUSEHOLD SAVINGS IN ...
mutual funds: $25,000
individual stocks: $17,500
bank accounts: $18,100
retirement accounts: $24,000
Average 401(k) balance: $39,970
Americans without any retirement savings at all: 51.2%
Median financial assets of households ages 55 to 64: $45,600

Voters tend to be savers.

What I'm hoping my choice gets us is a Republican defeat. And with that a real reason for the party to take libertarian values seriously in the future - or else drop the phony rhetoric from their sales pitch. They simply don't come through.

So YOU want Obama for a second term....being a libertarian? Too funny, dblack.
When Obama gets done with us there won't be enough self reliant people off of the government teet to get to your "so-called" objective.

A Romney victory would BE a second term for Obama - with the potential of a third.

Listen, clearly you believe there is a significant difference between Obama and Romney. But from a libertarian perspective, there isn't. Whatever mildly more conservative leanings Romney may possess are offset by the fact that he'd have a more compliant Congress to work with. He'd be pushing most of the same policies of Obama - and actually passing them. The one thing I'll give props to the Republicans on is they're a damned good opposition party. The Democrats suck in that role.

So ultimately, it's a wash. And I certainly won't waste an opportunity to support a real libertarian alternative on a wash.

To you it may be a wash...be assured that your libertarian party will sink with the "social justice" that Obama wants in his next 4 years if elected.
There is a distinct difference between Romney and Obama....too bad you're too blind to see.

you most certainly can,, vote for Paul and vote obama back into office.. see how stupid you are? now let's try for some logic.. obama has a chance, Romney has a chance, no one else has a chance, so if you vote for anyone other that either of those you're giving one or the other of those a vote.. try to contemplate that

I see... so now it's:

"not voting for Obama or Romney is the same as voting for Obama or Romney"

Wow... that's brilliant. Thank you for that.

Just VOTE as you fucking please and forget the ramifications that PAUL hasn't a chance...OK?

*Done*

You would. And the process has indeed given us a poor set of choices.

But there is still a pronounced difference between the two candidates. And that difference is more than sufficient to justify a vote for Mitt over the Bumbler in Chief.

Yeah, and the difference in Romney is going to be enough that people decide to just stick with what they have. Dude is seriously a turnoff to average working class people.

I sense you dire concern that Mitt might get President Obama re-elected.

:eusa_hand:

Not really that much. It is of concern to me that he does get elected though, instead of Obama reelected.

I just love how lefties are constantly trying to tell those of us on the right what we are and what we believe in. It's a constant in the universe. No matter what forum you visit, they're always there, spewing the same BS and garbage....lol.

So you aren't conservative, you just hate Obama.

If you were conservative, it wouldn't be acceptable for you to replace one liberal with another.

Just like conservatives calling us commies and marxists and stalinists and maoists?

I love this.

You do just hate him. You yourself posted in this thread saying anyone but obama.you can't even stay consistent with the 5 posts you have...this is just sad.

Saying "anyone but Obama" does not equate to hating him. It means that the person is against Obama's policies. :eusa_whistle:

The 'anyone but Obama' thinking is flawed. It was the 'anyone but Bush' that got us Obama!

The policies of Clinton, Bush, and Obama are not that different. Clinton made the largest cuts to Welfare in the last 30 years, while Bush made the largest entitlement expansion in the last 30 years with his medicare part D - which was a give away to drug companies. Both parties are owned by big business, which funds elections and staffs government. Private sector wealth runs the two party system, which is a one party system in practice. There is no government. There is only the concentrated power of money.
