Who do you think is growing your food now dummy??? progressives???

I have news for you dumbass - 90% of the rural communities - especially in the midwest vote republican (or non-left)....

The strong majority of progressives live in large cities - the majority of conservatives grow your food....

The majority of the food grown in the areas you are referring to are made into processed foods and are not edible food-stuffs. I do not eat processed foods. I eat local, seasonal food when I can get it and organic when I can't. I do not eat feed lot beef, pork or chicken. And there are hundreds of small, medium and large sustainable farms (and they pretty much all lean left) that can absolutely feed everyone. Check it.

Local Harvest / Farmers Markets / Family Farms / CSA / Organic Food

Only idiots think that.

You mean idiots who think a question is declarative?

I'll be done soon I suppose, just fielding some questions.

Don't you think your fellow drones have already spewed the talking points?

It's not like any of you have the capacity for thought or rational inquiry.

Or the ability to think against conventional wisdom...and thus the reson why so many are missing the boat in this thread.

Right, I ask specifics, am told they're not there, and somehow I'm the one that did it wrong.

Tell me again about this "conventional wisdom"...

I know that you're just a chattering monkey, but where DO you think the food this nation consumes is grown at? New York City? Seriously?

My food comes from sustainable farms in upstate NY about an hour from here. Do you know where yours comes from? I can go to where my food is grown and see it growing and shake the hand of the man growing it. Can you do that?

Great. I'm seeing that many in the conservative family are leaning toward allowing Liberal Land to have New York State. So that will work out great for you. And you won't need to worry your pretty little head about where we in Conservative Land will get our food. It will need not be any concern of yours.

Indeed. WE will have the entire South that pretty much grows crops year around...

I guess your assuming that Repubs always go to war.

Taft - Repub - WWI

FDR - Dem - WWII

Truman - Dem- Korean War

Johnson - Dem- Viet Nam War

Bush Sr. - Repub -Desert Storm

Bush Jr. - Repub- Afghan and Iraq War

3 Dems and 3 Repubs seems even to me, in who goes to war.

World War I was Woodrow Wilson, a socialist and democrat.

Yep your right, my Bad. I don't know why I was thinking it stared in 1912. It started in 1914I should have looked it up..

So that's 4 Dems who went to War and 2 Repubs.
Yet they keep saying that Repubs are the war makers.

(Disclaimer: This is an adaptation of a divorce agreement that has been circulating around the internet for awhile.)

To All My Dearest Beloved Liberal, Leftist, Social Progressive, Regressive, Marxist, and Liberation Theologist Friends:

Since we are not going to get gasoline back to $1.50 per gallon and coffee to $2.00 per pound, it is time to divide up our common property and split the sheets so to speak. To wit I propose the following:

DIVORCE AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, we have stuck together since the late 1950s for the sake of the kids and for sake of future generations, but the whole of this latest election process has revealed that our relationship has clearly run its course, and

WHEREAS, our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all,

THEREFORE let's end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is the suggested model separation agreement:

1. Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass apportioned according to numerical representation. You can have California, Oregon, and Washington State. We'll take all the rest.

2. We don't like redistributive taxes, so you can keep them.

3. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.

4. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA, and the military.

5. We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and you can go with all the wind, solar, and bio-diesel.

6. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore, and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.

7. We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart, and Wall Street.

8. You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless homeboys, hippies, druggies, illegal aliens, unions, peaceniks, war protesters, and the OSW groups.

9. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.

10. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood

11. You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us or hit back when we are threatened or attacked.

14. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness, and Shirley McLain. You can also have the U.N., but we will no longer be paying the bill.

13. We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.

14. We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks, and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Chevy Volt you can find.

15. You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any doctors to deliver it. We'll continue to believe that healthcare is more affordable and more excellent in a free market system.

16. We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic", "God Bless America", and "The National Anthem."

17. You get "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya," or "We Are the World".

18. We'll practice trickledown economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.

19. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our constitution and our flag.

Please sign and pass it on if you will agree to this equitable distribution of property, values, and practices.

In the spirit of friendly parting, we will arrange for a community picnic in about 10 years to compare notes and see how each other are doing.

Sincerely,

Your Conservative Friends

P.S.: Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin Sheen, Barbara Streisand, Alec Baldwin, and Jane Fonda with you.

P.S.S..: And you won't have to "Press 1 for English" when you call our country.

Sounds good to me. You keep the Supreme Court and agree to allow us to return to you all of the sons and daughters from the fly over states who have run to California to escape the bigotry of their family and neighbors. We will also require a bond to cover the cost of all of those east of the Sierra's who sneak into our civilized region for medical treatments denied to them based on whatever excuse the Medical-Pharmaceutical complex has decided is cost-beneficial to them and their stockholders. All produce produced in the United States of the Pacific Coast (USPC) and exported to the remaining states will not be inspected and will be delivered "As Is"

Finally the ports of California, Oregon and Washington will be closed to all imports from Asia for redistriubtion to the eastern bloc, and by this agreement the State of Hawaii will be invited to join our United Confederation; you may have Puerto Rico**.

** Likely the Puerto Rico residents will reject joining your coalition leading to the Romney Administrations invasion, occupation and development of relearning camps for those who refuse to learn English and/or speak Spanish which will be outlawed by Presidential Decree.

Oh, look everybody, an elitest west coaster who thinks the world revolves around the land of fruits and nuts. You do realize that there is a lot of medical research and world class medical care between the two coasts don't you? You do realize that the midwest is called America's bread basket for a reason don't you? You do realize that there are other ports other than on the left coast don't you? Geez!

My food comes from sustainable farms in upstate NY about an hour from here.

Sure it does.

Leftists are stupid creatures who believe that the tofu and quinoa they eat is grown in the back room of whole foods.

At best, 2% of your food comes from these "Upstate NY farms." The rest is coming from the mid-west, those great plains that are the breadbasket of the nation.

Do you know where yours comes from? I can go to where my food is grown and see it growing and shake the hand of the man growing it. Can you do that?

No, you can go see one or two items you eat grown. My tomatoes and oranges come from my backyard - does that mean my food comes from there? Nope, because I eat more than tomatoes and oranges. Further, I get tomatoes 6 months out of the year, oranges 3, pomegranates hit for about 3 weeks, same with guavas.

Strange that those traditional "red" states (with the exception of Texas) that been opposed to the "redistribution" of wealth in the private sector have all been the net beneficiaries of federal government spending.

It should be noted that not one of these "red" states has ever refused to accept those federal funds that exceeded the amount that state has contributed - as a matter of principle!

Another one that can't think out of the BOX.

Come on Uncensored. BobCollum is a dedicated Leftst and if we are going to have an amicable divorce we must allow him his POV. And look on the bright side. He will be going to Liberal Land. :)

I know you want to keep things light, but the reality is there is a fundamental difference in how the nation is viewed.

You have taken the constitutional view of sovereign states who have formed a cooperative federation. But we haven't been a federal republic since Adolf Lincoln, oops, I mean Abraham. The structure of the nation was altered from a federation to an empire. States are mere vassals of the empire, they have no rights at all and cannot leave the "union." Any attempt would be met with arms by the Imperial forces. If Texas were to invoke the provision to secede from the empire, per their constitution, there would be troops moving on them in a matter of days. We are ruled by Washington, any notion of independent states is a farce.

But that is the whole purpose of the proposed divorce. Read the OP again. We do have irreconcilable differences in what we think a nation should be. The divide between points of view of the Left and Right have become too wide to bridge. The only answer is that each side take those things that are important to them and we kiss and hug and part company with each wishing the best for the other.

Don't tell me what can't be done. Don't tell me what will happen before it has even been tried, Help us anticipate the influence you think conservative values would have for those of us who choose Conservative Land. And allow them the respect they deserve in getting exactly what they want for Liberal Land.

This OP is so stupid, it's nearly everything I hate about the partisans on the Right-Wing side, all in one convenient easy to skim over package.

Makes me wish I had followed my instincts and avoided it entirely.

:dunno:

Of course you think it's stupid...... Progressives couldn't survive on their own...

I think it is about time we wean you from the rich mans teat.

You take all these fucking perfectly healthy and young gangbangers and life long welfare recipients and you teach them how to do something productive, instead of fucking, making more lazy kids who will be a burden to society all on the taxpayers coin...

Apparently you've never seen a housing project....

Sigh. Could we NOT have these kinds of arguments here? If they want housing projects it is not up to us to tell them they can't have housing projects in Liberal Land. Maybe they can make it work so well we'll have to eat crow. All that is important to understand is that we do not have to have housing projects in Conservative Land. We don't have to fight about it. Lighten up. Find your sense of humor and sense of creativity here. Live and let live.

We'll never get the divorce settlement finished if at least the conservatives can't extend some charitable thoughts here.

They've already been divorced by me - that was a decade ago.

I used to believe in that "tax the rich more" and "social justice" bullshit, but then I turned 21. It's a damn shame there are people in their 40's, 50's and 60's who buy that bullshit.

Once you investigate their claims you realize everything they claim is straight bullshit or highly exaggerated...

I would love nothing more than to segregate from these zombies - right wing zombies as well.

All the more reason you should be eager for the divorce. Then you won't need to be concerned about red states or any of the characteristics of conservatism that you believe exists.

Don't you want your own Utopia? A nation governed strict by leftist/progressive/statist/liberal concepts and ideals? Wouldn't that be heaven on Earth for you? It requires cutting the ties between us and allowing the conservatives to go their own hapless, confused, evil way. Why wouldn't you jump at the chance to do that?

Sure it does.

It does come from upstate NY. And the breadbasket of our nation grows corn to make HFCS and wheat and soy for "food-like products". You can keep it.
