No, but it is telling.

Okay, whenever the gun propagandists tell us that we've had lot of non-lethal DGU's, the numbers fluctuate wildly. The FBI has the number at about 49,000. Meanwhile, bought and paid for propagandists like John Lott put the number in the millions. That's probably the first sign something is amiss, when you can't get consistent estimates on how often an activity happens.

We do know how many gun homicides and suicides there are. With those, we have a dead body to count. That number is 39,000. (14,000 homicides and 25,000 suicides). Obviously, we don't have numbers on how many times a domestic abuser threatened his family with a gun or a depressed person seriously considered offing himself with a gun, because those are non-events.

Now, if you take any estimate on non-lethal DGU's, let's take a low one like the FBI's. You would have us believe that all you gun-wankers out there, who spend nights fantasizing about the day you can administer some street justice to some darkie, And we are to believe out of the 49,000 times this happens, you only manage to kill the guy 200 times?

We also have to believe that in most of those cases, a person desperate enough to commit a crime would be deterred by the mere sight of a gun.

Nope. Just doesn't follow logically.

So let's say there are 49,000 DGU's. and someone was able to save his wallet or his TV by flashing a gun.

14,000 gun homicides
25,000 gun suicides
70,000 gun injuries
400,000 gun crimes
$270,000,000,000 in economic losses every year do to Gun violence or anti-gun measures.

We also have to design our whole lives around the idiot with a gun. We have active shooter drills, send kids off to school with bullet proof backpacks, design our workplaces to be locked down in case a disgruntled worker goes on a rampage, etc.

The cost is too high.
