Desperately Seeking Reagan!

St Reagan was an actor playing a part.

So....you didn't note that he solved the economy that the Democrats crippled, and ended the hegemony of the communists of the USSR?

You're pretty dumb,huh?
No, Gorby did more with a Perestroika than Reagan did with his wig...

Leave it to a dunce like you to swallow the Leftist propaganda whole.

"SO ON WHOM or what do we bestow the title of the "evil empire's" killer? Was it Mikhail Gorbachev himself who pulled down what Lenin and Stalin had built up? It is tempting to finger Gorbachev, but this would ascribe too much wisdom and foresight to a man who wanted merely to reform, but not to relinquish, the empire.

At no point, however, did Gorbachev want to yield Moscow's pride of place as the number two superpower.

And he was blissfully confident that the risks were tolerable: "There is no reason to fear the collapse or the end of socialism", Gorbachev assured Romanian leader Nicolae Ceausescu three weeks after the Berlin Wall had been breached and three weeks before the Romanian dictator was executed by his own people."

Wise up.

"Every American high school student knows, or should know, that President Ronald Reagan went to the Brandenburg Gate in West Berlin on this date in 1987. The President said: “If you seek liberalization, open this gate…Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

(Yes, kids, there was a West Berlin then.)

American journalists were enchanted by Mikhail Gorbachev in those days. The young and charismatic Kremlin boss was “the human face of Communism” that they’d been seeking. Leader of the CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union ), this dynamic man spoke of glasnost (openness) and perestroika (re-structuring). His words were all the rage then.

But when the Brandenburg Gate did finally open, in 1989, and when the Berlin Wall was re-structured, as in, torn down, the people in the Communist East German puppet state ran only one way. They ran as far and as fast from Gorbachev and his “workers’ paradise” as they could. When Gorby ran for president of Russia in an open election, he won just 12% of the vote."

Wise up.

That in no way makes the case that Reagan did it.

We're not the ones trying to resurrect him. If Reagan had been a legitimately great president, the right wouldn't have had to create a false legend about him.
Resurrect?!

Reagan is dead, but the butt hurt lives on. Historical giants like that come once in a lifetime.

He didn't do anything of note, other that to become the Father of the Runaway Debt.

...oh, and save Social Security, the cornerstone of FDR's legacy.

Wise up.
If you could stop projecting long enough to see that Gorby instituted free speech which led to the down fall of the USSR, Reagan did not give free speech to the USSR did...the satellite states were breaking away because they were able to overthrow their USSR allies in control, and Gorby did not re invade the occupied Eastern European nations....99% of the reason the USSR fell is not Reagan...

Now that the American people have finally done what we on the Right implored them to do six years ago, kick the community organizer to the curb......we need to find someone capable of wielding the power given to the Republicans.

And we are desperately seeing a man of the caliber of Ronald Reagan.

1. "One of the first things the Republicans are going to do after today’s election is mount a search for Ronald Reagan.

2. The search is signaled in Commentary Magazine, which just put in the mail a November issue .... reprise the fealty so many Republicans are paying to Reagan....

3. .... Reagan had the jump on the Father of All Mercies when it comes to the Free Trade Union Movement. This is the element to the Reagan story that, for my money, has the most to offer the current crop of Republicans.

4. Today’s GOP stars.
..are fluent in free market economics..
.. are warming to sound money. ...
...oppose high taxes.
They’re onto constitutional fundamentals.

But the wisdom of the anti-communist labor unions, not so much.

5. Reagan had this down to the ground. He’d been president of the Screen Actors Guild in the years the communists tried to take over Hollywood. Reagan beat them. And he used the experience when, as president, he went up directly against Soviet Russia."

Not to mention passing legislation for banks to securitize residential mortgages...And we know what happened after that finally went out of control.

You do know Obama is still President, right?

Like I said, she is totally out of touch.

She fondly recalls the Reagan years mostly because they remind her of how much better life is in one's 30's.
