I disagree with lock downs and prefer herd immunity, but it is NOT hacking to use the state emergency communications system exactly as intended.
“The fact that someone would use an emergency alert system for their own purpose, whatever it is, is both irresponsible and unlawful,” said Jason Mahon, communications director for the Florida Division of Emergency Management and interim communications director for the Department of Health.
Mahon said the state had not identified the person who sent the text message but said department officials had contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement “to look into this matter, and we expect that the individual who sent the message will be held accountable.”
