My point...which you still can't seem to grasp...is that it isn't "demand" that prompts investment of Capital...it's anticipation of profit that causes an investor to risk their money. Take away that anticipation of profit and you won't get investment and you won't create jobs.
Smart phones came into common usage because the cost of production finally came down to where people could afford to buy them at a price that the manufacturer of the phones could realize a profit.
