Do republicans realize how alone they are on the issue of global warming?

Seriously, how can this be a politically motivated ideology when the INTERNATIONAL scientific community overwhelming believes it to be a very real, man made phenomenon.

I really think if a douche like Al Gore hadn't shined the light on it, the US would be on board. It should have been independent scientists that came forward on this issue. Of course then Americans would just ignore it because they are willfully ignorant.

Billy, fisrt there is no proof and the Earth has waaaaaay more to do with it than people....

According to....?

Second, all these people seem to have the same thinking on all issues.
That's like saying PETA, NOW, NAACP, ACTUP, Queer Nation, ELF, Earth First, ACORN, and any of those other wacko groups are tottally different, when the believe the same thing on every issue. It's the same stuff, different packaging.

And by international I'm assuming you mean people that a)hate the US or b) are socialist in nature?

Ask this question, if Al Gore really believes this, why does he have multiple HUGE homes? Why does he use jets? why doesnt he do anything he wants us to do?

Who said it was a "one off natural cycle"? The cycles are ongoing, it's the overall trend that's important. Typical problem for the deniers, they can't see the forest for the trees. I realize you depend heavily on ridicule, because that's all you've really got, neither science nor logic are on your side. Answer the question, what happens to the extra trapped energy whenever more CO2 is pumped into the atmosphere?

Some of it is being absorbed by the water cycle.

NOAA Ocean Explorer: Education - Multimedia Discovery Missions | Lesson 7 - The Water Cycle | Activities: Global Warming and the Water Cycle

Lowering the pH of the oceans, thank you. :clap2:

Changing weather patterns.

Oh, it is still being pushed. It just so happens that this whole acidification scare is largely wrong. The ICPP has once again, proven that the small changes (very small) will not effect plankton or other sea life whcih is highly adaptable.

CO2 Science

Another ICPP failure.

CO2 Science

What it means
In light of their several findings and the analogous results of several other scientific teams, Crawfurd et al. conclude in the final sentence of their paper that "if all diatoms respond in a similar fashion to T. pseudonana, acidification of this magnitude in the future ocean may have little effect on diatom productivity."

I wonder what the next scare tactic will be. We're running out of chicken little skys here, folks.

HAHAHA you really think man has more effect on the climate than the Earth?I aruged this with another of you libtards and he said noone thinks man is more responsible than the Earth, haahaha

You really think the international community likes the US?

Jordan extremist praises Boston bombing

Those are YOUR firends that you want to understand and see why they hate us......LOL

The fact is alot of internationalists are socialists.....which explains the Nobel Peace Prize, treaties on global warming...ect....even when we BOTH know, the Earth is much more important to climate than man.

How is this a personal attack? IF your friend said some food was bad and started to eat it, wouldnt you question him?

The fact is none of these global warming people live the way the say us lower class people should, NONE. They drive cars, ride jets, use tons of fossil fuels, they have multiple homes. CWhy does Al Gore need multiple homes? Doesnt cuttting down trees to make the home and to clear room for the home, isnt that bad for the environment?

Global warming loons struggle with reality.

Climate scientists struggle to explain warming slowdown | Reuters

(Reuters) - Scientists are struggling to explain a slowdown in climate change that has exposed gaps in their understanding and defies a rise in global greenhouse gas emissions.

Some experts say their trust in climate science has declined because of the many uncertainties. The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) had to correct a 2007 report that exaggerated the pace of melt of the Himalayan glaciers and wrongly said they could all vanish by 2035.

"My own confidence in the data has gone down in the past five years," said Richard Tol, an expert in climate change and professor of economics at the University of Sussex in England.

Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenius first showed in the 1890s how man-made carbon dioxide, from coal for instance, traps heat in the atmosphere. Many of the exact effects are still unknown.

All the looney warmists want is a way to explain away reality and make it conform to what they want.

You act as though just because the scientific community can't fully understand it that somehow undermines the integrity of the idea. It doesn't. Plus, it isn't about "warming". It's about climate irregularity. I shouldn't have said "global warming" in this post. It's an outdated, oversimplication of the phenomenon.

There's a lot of money to be found in promoting solar, wind power, electric cars, fluorescent bulbs (which is a disposable hazard to the environment by the way) then siting government regulation in an attempt to generate more revenue and influence behavior.

I do think it is overstated, but I do believe we are contributing to climate change.
You know what else did, back in the day? Volcanoes. Those things aren't so active anymore. But 7 billion people are very active.

huh? Give this kid some play-doh before he hurts himself

As I said, the science is the last thing the deniers care about. Here we have a case where the claim is made that dissolved CO2 doesn't lower pH, contrary to hundreds of years of chemical experimentation! Ever been to a real lab? Come to mine and I'll give you the education you're sorely lacking.

What can you prove in a meth lab?

You're an ignorant troll.

Wrong on both counts.

But it's good to see you still have your sense of humor.

yep you said that...a direct quote and then in this thread

I stated that the Earth has waaay more effect on Global WArming that humans

and you said According to who??? Which means you are saying that you dont buy my previous point...in essence that humans have more or the same impact as the EArth

God you guys try to make shit up....and try to escape your posts.....

So which is it closed, Earth or humans on global warming?

you got served......you've argued both sides and were caught.....I love it when a plan comes together.

Republicans don't care about being alone. They are very fluent in the "everyone is stupid except me" argument.

Exactly. This issue costs them nothing with the chamber of commerce wing, which either is pricing in any cost of GW, or has none in their business model and doesn't want to pay any additional tax. So, for the GOP, GW is simply a wedge social issue. Gummit is bad.

Fortunately, utility companies seem to have no desire to go back to coal.

For the liberal elitists, this is also a social issue: dumb rednecks will cook themselves if they are allowed any free choice.

yeah ben, I love my enegery prices soaring because we cant use coal...Why? becasue Al Gore says it will kill the environment, along with every other modern technology....although he somehow keeps using it....you would think if he bleived this story, he would practice what he preaches and the same goes for all these rich environmentalist morons.

humans are contributing to pollution and depleting resources. Humans are not changing the climate of the planet.

Utility companies are turning away from coal only because Obama's EPA is making it so expensive to burn coal that it's no longer competitive.
