so for less than 100 bucks you can easily eat for a long time.

Nope, haven't had to go to survival mode for quite some time now. The 2008 crash screwed me up so bad I had to ride the sofa circuit for a while and work for some pretty dismal wages. I saw no inherent dignity in my thankfully temporary poverty.I do both. don't you?
