Donald Trump, The Former President Of The U.S., Can Only Get 51% Of The Vote From His Own Party In Iowa

Well, there is no point talking to you anymore. You gave up on reality a long time ago.
If you and rumpart are reality....then yes, it has been given up on.
Multiple candidates for a position tend to split the vote until one wins...or, you can dictate only one candidate to run, like your ilk, and then there is a good chnce he might win your nutjob nomination.

Reagan wasn't a former president in 1980. The fact that Trump could only get 51% of the vote from Republicans as a former President is a very bad sign for him.
You must be taking some good stuff. Both of his competitors were each 30 points behind. Their combined total was only 40 percent. Orange man smoked the 13 point win record held by dole in 96. If orange man had one competitor and won the race 51-49, you would have a valid argument.

Yes, DeSantis voters are former Trump voters. How many of those voters go back to Trump in November is still to be determined.

The fact that these voters broke from Trump in the first place shows that they have serious misgivings about Trump and they are not enthusiastic about voting for him again.
You are agreeing with rumpart.....rump-art....you know that right?

The OP's analysis is stupid, but I'll run with it.

The percentage for the quasi-incumbent has to be measured against the quality of his opposition. By that standard, he did fine.

Vivaswami was a pipedream, so his votes are a toss-off. Haley is a Democrat, and most of her votes were probably Democrats who changed their party affiliation for this primary because their Tuesday night CPUSA meeting was cancelled.

DeSantis, on the other hand is the ideal candidate. He is young, good looking, has the right credentials, great success as a Governor, and the proper position on every single issue. He is Donald Trump without the baggage.

And the important thing for Republicans is, DeSantis is Plan B. Nobody else. Plan B comes into effect if Trump is taken out by one or more of the phony prosecutions that are figuratively biting at his heels from now until November (and probably beyond). It is important to keep him at the top of the non-Trump heap and it is important for him not to drop out because Plan B could be Plan A in a moment's notice.

That sounds like wishful thinking.

Nikki's huge war chest comes from Democrats....not Republicans. Vivek is also running way behind with his conspiracy theory platform.

But in every poll....ANYONE beats Biden in an Election. Biden has the lowest approval numbers in a LONG time. And with the heavy campaigning the others have done vx Trump who has spent so little time and done so little campaigning by comparison....he is literally going to walk into the white house as if he is unopposed.
haley has been backed by koch., who last i checked, has never been a democrat of any kind (and who wil;l settle for trump as long as he gets the courts he wants and a tax cut. )

she can count on a few of the feminist types, i suppose, but they don't really like her either.

I believe you nailed it.

Exactly. Biden wouldn’t survive a primary, and Obama needs a dementia patient as “president” so he can get his 4th term - and complete his destruction of the country.

THAT is what is going on here. Obama is still in charge.
More wishful thinking....

Well, "establishment repubs" are not forcing millions of Republican voters to vote for DeSantis or Haley. The voters did that on their own.
Its a party caucus stupid....multiple candidates vying for one slot.
We do that in America. Not sure how you handle thing sin the Reich.

Koch is establishment. That is uniparty. RINO's and demofascists working hand in glove to screw over the middle class.

And the Democrats pining to send Trump to prison to keep him from running KNOW that DeSantis would win even easier against Biden.

Their purpose is to keep Trump tied up in numerous court cases and hurt his campaign. He now has to go back to Court before the NH primary. It’s election interference - and as we’ve seen, it’s not working. Trump has the energy and stamina of men half his age.

You‘re ignoring that the choice last night was between Trump and another qualified candidate, such as DeSantis.

The independents will pull hard for Trump when the alternative Biden.

(Leftists have no logic.)
DeSantis is a joke...that's why so many of his donors pulled out months ago.

He just spent a fortune in Iowa and barely finished second. He is an absolutely horrible, robotic candidate with zero charisma. And not very smart, either.
