Once the Department of Education became cabinet level, it was inevitable that it would become known and hated by those who have a proven hatred for education.

I spent my first five years in a public school in the city and I believe the schools did a good job back then and I can't say they aren't doing a good job now. If someone wants to learn, they're going to have to work at it and it helps if the community considers education something that is very important. There is more than teachers involved.
