Elizabeth Warren slams JPMorgan Chase...

"minority-as-victim crowd"? Harvard? Really?

Well, yes, but more importantly, why have completely avoided my point? Is it because I refuted your claim that the "only argument" against her is her lying about her ancestry???

I would appear so.

How sad for you.

You made no points whatsoever.

What you did was a pointless diatribe topped off with the "Marxist" meme.

No, an honest assessment as to why I disagree with Warren's policies and approach to governing.

But you were saying something about a pointless diatribe?

Oh the irony! :eusa_whistle:

The story is pretty damn simple, the Republicans and their fellow travelers ^^^ are OK with a criminal enterprise paying a crook $20,000,000 and denying working men and women who lost jobs due to criminal banksters, an extension of unemployment insurance.

How much more corrupt can the GOP become?

From the Link in the OP:

"The raise is very real, but it should be kept in mind that Dimon’s annual compensation had been previously slashed in half, to $11.5 million, as punishment for 2012′s so-called London Whale fiasco+++, which cost the bank billions.

"After a reportedly heated debate — in which some members argued Dimon’s compensation should remain at its “reduced” level, due to the bank’s fines in 2013, while other advocated increasing the CEO’s compensation as a reward for his stewardship during the crisis — the board ultimately decided on the $20 million figure.

“Jamie Dimon got a raise after he negotiated $17 billion to pay for activities that were illegal that he presided over,” Warren said on Thursday. '“So I’m not quite sure how this is a deterrent for other CEOs.”'

Please show me how paying this guy less will increase the wages of anyone else.

Read the last paragraph wherein Sen. Warren suggests giving a raise to the CEO of a company which costs its stock holders $$$Billions (in losses and fines) isn't a good idea. She nor me ever suggested the CEO's salary would increase the wages of others, and isn't on her - I assume - or my radar. Why it's on yours is a mystery.

If it won't change anyone's situation then why should it matter?

If people who own stock don't like the CEO they can sell it.

If people don't like the service they can change banks.

IOW it's none of the government's business or yours for that matter.

Equating the government meddling in the pay of private citizens to unemployment benefits is another one of your apples to airplanes comparisons.

She 'gamed' the system to get into Harvard? She was one of the most qualified people, in many ways, to come to Harvard's doors at the time. Or did she game the system as an attempt to show solidarity for a people? Given her nature I would go for the second. While you ponder those most difficult questions I have another. Why is it that all of those people standing on corners waving Brown signs and doing the Ingin chop stop that literally overnight? Why is it only the most hard-core sheep keep spouting that talking point and everyone else shut up about it?

So it was a Noble Lie .. that coincidentally benefitted her?

What a coincidence. She must have accidentally Quayled that one.

.

Lie
1: to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive
2: to create a false or misleading impression

You are going to have to come up with a better word or explain how that one fits.

Actually it fits very well. Read the last link I posted and see who (plural) have lied. Some for being deceived and one because he wanted to be reelected. Or, continue to post right wing propaganda and be know as a know nothing parrot. Your choice.

Here is some evidence, probative or not is up to the reader.

"The outstanding questions about Warren’s directory listing — and her relying on family lore rather than official documentation to make an ethnic claim — certainly raise serious concerns about Warren’s judgment. But in the debate, the Republican incumbent conflated conjecture and sketchy information to make a claim not supported by the available evidence, and so he earns Two Pinocchios." In other words Scott Brown was the liar!

No you didn't.

You called her a "Marxist". And that's clearly not what she is.

You've also accused her of lying. It's a stupid and silly conservative bulletpoint.

And considering the fact conservatives foisted such luminaries as Darrel Issa and George W. Bush, two men who have really lied and had criminal records, into office..

Your meme about lying is laughable.

It's none of her fucking business what a private company pays one of it's employees.........

Doesn't she have a form to falsify or something?..... :dunno:

It's a private company that gets 14 billion a year in taxpayer subsidies. It got 25 billion in the bank bailout and that doesn't include it's subsidiaries. Free stuff for the 1%. Solyndra only received about 500 million. Basically JP Morgan gets about 28x the amount of taxpayer subsidies yearly that Solyndra received one time. So yes, Warren has every right to question JP Morgan.

Define subsidy and you'll see how dumb this post really is.........

Did Elizabeth Warren check the Native American box when she ?applied? to Harvard and Penn? - The Washington Post

Actually I think the party really at the bottom of this is not even being questioned, Harvard. If one looks at the circumstances Warren did not need to declare minority status to get in but Harvard was having a serious problem showing they were diverse. Always look to see who had the most to gain, I.e. who had the motive and the means. I call for a federal investigation!

The Republicans paid no one at Chase, if the Democrats are all fired up about the issue, why hasn't this administration charged any of the "crooks"?

For all your bitching, you blame the group that isn't in power, time to blame the group that is letting this go...Democrats and the President.

It's time for the administration and the Democrats to either put up or shut up.

I didn't say the R's paid anyone at chase. What they failed to do was to regulate; what they did was look the other way because 'wall street' is their constituency - not the hoi polloi supporters (social conservatives, gun lovers, racists, tea party 'patriots') who they constantly exploit for their votes, and then support the rich to the detriment of the hoi polloi.

The bank was fined $17 Billion Dollars, why the DOJ didn't prosecute the Board of Directors, the CEO, CFO and others is a crime and something Democrats bring up all of he time. We never hear that call from Republicans.

BTW, Sen Warren put up, and the Republican sycophants are telling her to shut up and attacking her character in a typical echo chamber circle jerk.

You hear the Democrats squawk, however they do NOTHING! Why doesn't the DOJ act?

That "she's not a real Native American" is reference to one specific instance? By chance do you know what that is?
What she is is a lying bitch who lied to 'game' the system at Harvard. She knew exactly what she was doing. When Harvard proudly told the world they had hired the "First Native American Indian" she was more than happy to let the lie continue.
That's the same sort of bullshit that Obama has been using his entire life to 'game' the system. Birds of a fucking feather.
That makes them liars IMO.

Are you stupid?

Your meme about lying is laughable.

Then it should be easy to point to proof that she did not. So far, all we have is "because I say so" and that doesn't cut it.

I get you now. You're a Libertarian curmudgeon who posts falderal as do most Libertarians, though many are not as bad-tempered as you. I guess everyone needs a hobby but character assassination isn't a laudable one.

"Speaking during a Senate Banking Committee hearing, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren noted how government regulators have much work to do when it comes to changing the culture of Wall Street, pointing specifically to the example of JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

"The JPMorgan Chase example is simple and instructive: Despite the fact that the megabank spent much of 2013 negotiating with federal regulators, and ultimately was fined billions of dollars, the board decided to increase CEO Jamie Dimon’s compensation to $20 million."

Now that's hysterical! Thanks for that.

You've not addressed I single point I posted or answered a single question. Instead, you accuse me of character assassination...by attacking my character.

That's just precious. Again, thanks for the laugh.

what does minimum wage have to do with his pay?

I made an error. I was thinking Unemployment not Minimum wage in the example. But, the same people oppose raising the minimum wage who filibustered the extension of UE and yet have no problem paying millions of dollars to individuals who violated the their fiduciary duty to protect the money of investors and the bank which employs them.

The Republicans in the Senate filibustered the bill to extend unemployment benefits for those who lost it, when the Congress went on a paid vacation. It is my opinion that these same Senators are beholden to 'wall street', i.e., the 'Banksters' who lost Billions of Dollars of stock holders money and still received raises.

You really don't understand my point, do you? My point is, these senators are self serving and have a callous disregard for those in need, unless those who need help have the means to 'donate' to their campaigns for reelection.

Those Senators should have vote to extend UE to the million or so in desperate need, and should spend time trying to reform 'wall street' so that the rest of us can - someday - trust our money and our nation's economy is protected from their greed.

Are you suggesting that Progressive Democrats did NOT support "paying millions of dollars to individuals who violated the their fiduciary duty to protect the money of investors and the bank which employs them"

Shall we look at the voting records? Shall we look at the administrations and bureaucratic agencies that were involved in those bailouts?

Do you really want to go there????

So why doesn't the DOJ go after the Chase CEO? All the lip service given and the DOJ, the Democrats and Obama have failed to indict anyone? Why is that? It is because the left bitches, blames and then does nothing because they don't want to. It is easier to bitch and blame the other party, but they don't want to bite the rich hand that feeds the Democrats.
