Fast Food Workers Going On Strike

There is a reason of the fast food type place I prefer Steak n Shake. First, they treat their fast food establishment like a restaurant, therefore, the workers get tips and actually make more than minimum wage. Not to mention it gets some experience to get at least a better waiter job. Some waiters make decent money. Nothing to write home about, but enough to pay the rent. Second, they have amazing prices and special, like kids eat free on weekend. Lastly, the food is high quality. I would take their burger over McD, Wendy, Burger King etc any day of the week.

You're taste buds are numb, Steak and shake sucks...

Already told you what it is dumb ass....fuck you and your capitalist bullshit.

Hardly, you spewed a few flowery slogans that had nothing to do with the mechanics of either governing or establishing a economy.

You cannot define this, because you simply don't know. The fact is, there is no "there" there.

Yawn...you are beginning to bore me. Seriously...lie to yourself if you want you have been given more than enough evidence etc you refuse to see it. Not my problem.

If you were 18 in the 60's you would be a flower child, a frickin idiot who would place daises in the gun barrels of the national gaurd in Chicago. while you live off your moms and wifes hard work... loser....

MUAHAHAAHA you are hilarious.. And oh so wrong.

Shoot, over at the local Weinerschnitzel I saw the worker pour frozen fries in a basket, then push a button and walk away. The machine lowered the basket into the oil, and a few minutes later, it raised up, shook for several seconds, then dumped into the pan next to the machine. The only thing the human did was put the frozen potatoes in the basket and scoop the finished fries into a container.

{In a similar vein, Wendy's International Inc. a year ago began rolling out grills that cook a burger on both sides simultaneously, eliminating the need for flipping.

The grills are now in 2,400 of the chain's U.S. restaurants. It has 6,400 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada.

The two-sided grill, which is monitored by a computer, dramatically reduces the previous cooking time of 5.5 minutes, said spokesman Bob Bertini.

Now it takes about a minute or less, he said.

The device also eliminates the need for an extra grill worker during rush hour, he said. }

PEOPLE REPORT: Labor-starved Restaurant Industry Turns to Automation for Help

McD's has used clamshell cookers for 20 years.

The experts here claim the patties must be flipped. They must think that the place operates just as it did back in the 60's.

Manyy places do not use the clamshells...offhand, Five Guys, most Wendy's, BK, and Hardees.

That's right. Bullets belong in gun barrels, not daisies. Those brave national guard heroes would have not been able to kill those students at kent state back in the late 60's. without bullets. The nerve of them, protesting in the greatest and freest country in the world!!! They were probably losers looking for free stuff, right? Seriously, one thing about you right wingers. You don't take to protest. Obedient worshipers of the state. Occupiers were a bunch of losers too. I just know you guys would have been on the side of the british during the revolution. Snitching on the rebels and screaming for paul revere's head on a pike.

I worked at McDonalds until I got fired after three days.

Cooking is down to flipping burgers or pulling fries when the f*cking beeper goes off. It's not like it requires a damn chef to make the things. The beeper goes off and you turn the hamburger over for f*ck sakes. Your entire f*cking job is hitting the timer and doing what the beeper tells you to when it goes off.

Not a job worth 15 bucks an hour.

You are correct, everything is on timers. The workers are not back there marinading meat and preparing a good dry rub tri tip or something.

If all you were doing was waiting for a buzzer to go off, your supervisor was incompetent.

Sign I saw at Long John Silver's yesterday: "Shfit Mangers Needed. Inquire Within."

I was going to print, "Spelling competence required" on the bottom, but didn't have a pen.

So know the founding fathes where a bunch of Hippies? Bawahahahahahahaha!

1. I am 28 will be 29 little over a month
Still dumber than a box of rocks, just saying!

2. I have read Chomsky but don't really agree with him on everything
Chomsky is a fucking fool. If you agree with even 1 percent of what he says then you are a fucking fool!

3.Chomsky is a Left Libertarian or Libertarian Socialist
You're a fool. Socialism and Libertarianism are mutually exclusive. Socialism is about state control and lack of freedom. Libertarian is about total freedom and lack of state control!

4. I have already asked for this username to be changed it hasn't happened yet
No keep the user name it let's people know your coming. It has the same effect as the little yellow bus for the mental challenged!

5.I chose this name because at the time time I was an Anarcho Capitalist but didn't realize the capitalism you people want allows the rich to get richer and the poor to be treated like slaves so no thanks to that shit.
So zero rules will allow the poor to become rich and the rich to become poor. That makes a ton of sense! You're a mental midget!

<I am going to finish this sentence for you to make it more appropriate>
"5.I am not a communist I not a socialist I am a FUCKING DOUCHE BAG!"

American Corporations could do better. They've attempted to go the Slave Labor route for too long. And they've been enabled by misguided people who for some reason, feel compelled to vigorously defend them at every turn. My guess is, they feel they're defending Capitalism when they do so. But i assure you, the Corporations don't need defending. They're doing well. It's the lowly worker who needs the defending.

If Businesses paid better, we would likely have less Citizens living off Government handouts. So it would benefit Taxpayers in the end. If you can't pay a worker a decent wage, you shouldn't be in business. So enough of the whining about needing Illegals to the jobs. You can't have your slaves. So it's time to get over that and move on. We should treat our fellow Americans better. We can surely do that.

If Businesses paid better, we would likely have less Citizens living off Government handouts.

If we had fewer idiotic government regulations, businesses would have more money to pay their employees.

Won't disagree with you on that. Big Brother needs to get the Hell out of the way. He's just too involved in Citizens' lives at this point. Starting your own Business is pretty rough these days. Big Brother makes it very difficult. It's not what our Founding Fathers wanted. That being said, i think there's some middle-ground on issues like this.

I don't feel the need to rush to defend large Corporations. I think that has become an all-too common knee-jerk reaction for many. They don't need the defending. They're doing fine. They can afford to pay an American a decent wage. I get a little tired of the "Boo Hoo for the Corporations' stuff. If anything, it's the lowly worker who could use the defending. They don't want to be slaves. Good for them. Businesses will just have to get over it. Pay an American a decent wage, or get out. I don't want hear the whining stuff anymore.

Have you ever seen what some compliance and legal department people make?
Big bucks!
Of course that does leave less money for the people who actually produce the goods and services.
Quick, pass another regulation, that'll fix things.

Yeah, Big Brother is making it tougher & tougher for start-up Businesses. It's time for him to get the Hell out the way.

Get out of the way by forcing a minimum wage as you advocated earlier?

I haven't advocated that. I just said Businesses could do better. Stop with the bitchin about needing Illegals to do the jobs. That's just plain shameful. American Citizens need the work. But they can't make it on slave wages. That's just reality. If you can't afford to pay an American decent wage, then get out. You shouldn't be in business. Businesses can't have their slaves. They'll just have to learn to deal with that.

If the government actually did its job, sealed the border and ejected 15 or 20 million illegals, wages for Americans at the low end of the scale would rise.

With no need for government forcing them to do so.

I agree that illegal immigration must be stopped, that it adds a virus to the market and destroys the mechanism of the invisible hand.

That said, business must pay employees the value that the employee brings.

Period.

If they pay less, then competitors will snatch the best employees through higher wages. If they more, competitors will undercut them on price and they will go under.

Well, that's not gonna happen. Amnesty is here. So that's that. And yes, that is gonna drive wages down further. Too many American Businesses are hooked on that Slave Labor. So I see nothing wrong with a worker trying to get more. That's their right. Living in America today is pretty expensive. They can't afford to be slaves. That's just reality.
