In January 2021, the food price index for all urban consumers was 270.938. As of this September, it was 313.142.
That is an increase of 42.204--or 15.57 percent.
In just the past year—from September 2021 to September 2022—food prices have increased 11.2 percent, according to BLS.

Cereals and bakery products +16.2%
Dairy and related products +15.9 %
Diesel fuel: $2.716 to $5.224 + 92.3%
Gasoline: $2.478 to 4.0134 + + 61.9%

However pineapples are extra cheap at 2.50 per nut.

Governments all over the world are preventing farmers from using carbon based fertilizer as much as they were, thus limiting crops for next year.

Meanwhile, the UN says that about a billion people will starve to death next year.

And for all of you low-income folks who got that big raise in the minimum wage--do you feel better off now that you can't afford to drive to work? As for the middle class, just remember, your taxes did not go up--if you have a job. Are you better off than you were two years ago?
