Like that ever mattered in France.
Oh, I have no doubt that your brethren socialists in France will get it passed, if they want. But given that Hollande has come under fire from the industrial groups to get growth growing again, lest France becomes another Italy, we'll see if he uses the ruling to back off.
France has finally learned to stand up to the plutocratic scum.
I hope we do in this country.
Fact1: Romney won by 7 point margin among people living in households that make $50,000 or more
Fact2: Obama won by 28 point margin among people living in households that make less than $30,000

France is like 50 million of you, only with culture - highly resentful of wealth, hates capitalism, etc. They've been like that forever. Yet, the wealthy still find legal ways to not pay their "fair share." There are all sorts of ways. Like there will be even more so here.
You might like this story Joe. I was in LA a couple weeks ago talking to a centimillionaire. With the new taxes coming in CA and Obama's new taxes, his marginal rate will be 57%. So, for the first time, he's seriously thinking about moving his business. I gave him the pitch for Florida but he's also thinking about Texas. I hope he picks our state!

yeah, so essentially, what you proved that after 30 years of making war on the working class, the GOP has lost them badly.
Here's the hint. the guy make 50K has just as many votes as the guy making 28K.
France is in a shithole and will continue to be an economic shithole unless it gives more freedom to the manufacturers.
Au contraire, France is pretty nice.
35% is the lowest the rich have paid in our history, and our economy has worked better when they pay more.
The top Rate was 93% in the 1950's.. and that was a golden age of America.
Sorry, just because you are scared of death and need to tell yourself a fairy story about a nice man who will make you happy for all eternity, doesn't not make you more evolved than a monkey.
You are just putting more thought into your death fears...
You do realize that when the top rate was 90% that the bottom rate was over 20% don't you?
So if you're willing to double the bottom tax bracket then we can get back to the good old days.
When the bottom rate was 20%, you didn't have sales taxes, the Social Security tax was only 1% instead of 6, there was no medicare tax.
Again, you guys keep trying to pretend the income tax is the only tax that exists when it isn't.

Given your states tendency to elect Democrats, I doubt this asshole would move there.
Of course, Texas will be a blue state soon enough, then the Plutocrats won't have anywhere to hide.
And they'll have no one to blame but themselves. 30 years of fucking the working man, eventually we were going to hit back.
Let the poor unskilled immigrant in and get the citizenship. He is the new Democratic voting base. Greedy corporations are happy too.
U.S. population growth since 1990: +67 million people
France population: 66 million (they are one of the few european countries that favors jus soli over jus sanguinis)
projected population growth for the next 40 years: +93 million

Wow, you really hate immigrants, don't you. Or maybe it just the non-white ones you hate.
Fact is, the Republicans have put the interests of the wealthy above the interests of working people, and THAT'S why they keep losing elections. If they didn't fool stupid white people into voting against their own economic interests, we'd be a one party state.
It's the topic of this thread.
And you have yet to justify why anyone with an income should be exempt from income taxes.

last I checked the republicans were in charge of the House.

last I checked the republicans were in charge of the House.
Only because they cheated through Gerrymandering...
And frankly, given the fact Boo-hooner can't control his own caucus, it's not like they are really in charge of much.

If you blame the republicans for gerrymandering you blame the democrats. Don't act the fucking fool for it.
No, they are in charge of the House. Either they are in charge or they are not. Do you blame the republican house for the current impasse on the budget? If you do blame them, they are in charge of something.

I blame them for their gross incompetence and general inability to function...
A faction of maybe 50 Teabaggers are holding the whole caucus hostage...

It may be pretty nice, but it's manufacturing is still pretty crappy. I think that I am talking about the auto sector. Yeah, I'm talking about the auto sector, the only one I care about.
