Georgia school shooting live updates: Suspect's father arrested on charges including involuntary manslaughter

Its probably more a function of their tormentor being there. The Melendez brothers were tormented by their dad--they shot him at home. Its not rocket science.

In Paris, Texas, you get tormented, you go home and get your gun and kill someone at school.

In Paris France, you get tormented, you go home and stew about it and things get better eventually.

The 2nd Amendment is the problem.
I agreed right up to your last sentence.

Well, we’re the only first world nation that allows wholesale ownership of guns and we’re the only first world nation that has these sorts of mass shootings on the regular.

It strains logic to see why anyone can’t see the correlation.

here is the part where you say “correlation is not causation” and then mutter something about “culture”.

You could say that the kid's father was incredibly evil or stupid but so was the system. Kids are kicked out of school for using the "N" word or carrying a Bible but this kid was a top threat and the FBI and state and local jurisdictions did nothing.
"The system" can't compensate for parents who are maliciously irresponsible.

Not easily dismissed. The awfulness of school shootings shouldn't be used as a cudgel against lawful gun owners.

Actually, we're the only first world nation that allows citizens not only the right to self defense but the actual ability to defend yourself. We didn't even have a serious gun (thug) violence problem until we decided to go third world voluntarily. I think most of the nations you have in mind now are second guessing their decision to import disaster too.

The FBI told this guy that his teenage son had threatened to carry out a school shooting.

After that, the father gave his son a gun.

Either the father is incredibly evil, or incredibly stupid.

Either way, I hope the father gets life in prison.

Gotta be a part of Vance's Hillbilly cult. They shot up the cultural heroin
