Germans want Donald Trump to pull US troops out of Germany, poll finds

You think war will EVER END as long as these relationships continue? Here's a hint, not while they are making money hand over fist at it.

The MSM will always tell you bullshit lies to make up reasons for war, and the other side will go along, because it is profitable for their leaders as well.

If the German had any idea how much higher their already high taxes would have to go to finance their own defense, they'd feel much different.

Do you believe Putin is waiting for his opportunity to invade western Europe?

He doesn't need to invade. All he will have to do is wait until the middle of winter and shut off the natural gas pipeline and they will all freeze to death in a matter of days.

I guess they don't think they need our military as much as we think they do.

Germans would actually welcome the withdrawal of American troops stationed in their country, a new poll has found – as Donald Trump threatens to pull the plug on military support.
Then lets do it. It works for me. First of all they are to close to the border if we were to have to fight Russia. The Russian troops could take over Germany in about two days with no problem and could take over Italy in about a week. Since France is now a Sheethead Nation and a Commie Nation they would not be attacked. Shutting down the bases in Europe would have us a lot of money which we could use for our own people for Tect training and the many stuff we need.

WTF is Tect training?

How exciting! Let's pull our troops out of Germany and use the money for the betterment of the United States. :)
Let's pull our troops out of everywhere.
I almost go along with that. Korea has the money and industry that they could hold their own protection I would think. Japan really does not need us. The only use of Japan is a holding and assembly area. We have bases in Alaska close to Japan. Could see if Brazil would like a base. Might see if Australia would like to host a base. Or Build aircraft carriers for the Air force USAF..... Navy would have to operate them.

Why would you build carriers for the Air Force? Did you sustain a recent head injury?

I've felt for a pretty good while that we should move bases
forward into Poland, Estonia, Romania, and the other
former Warsaw Pact Countries. Keep what we have in Italy
and add Austria.

Put ourselves right at Russia's front door. Piss on the Frogs
and the Krauts. Those are worthless nations. We lost 100's
of thousands of men defending the fucking French. Except for
a brief run by Napoleon, they've never won a war on their own.

Don't bother with those people. Put our troops where they are
wanted and needed and appreciated. Leave NATO and form
are own alliance with the former Warsaw Pact countries.

And it's really time to teach the fucking British another lesson.
In 1982, we went against our own Hemisphere and sided with
the Brits in the Falkland Islands War. We helped resupply them
and fueled their invasion fleet, along with providing medical
assistance for wounded English soldiers.

A year later, they bitched about us invading Grenada. Sided
with the UN until we paraded the captured USSR all-stars
in front of them all. The Cubans, Bulgarians, Russians,
East Germans, North Koreans and Libyans that were all in
Grenada, which had its Governor, first captured and then
executed, so the Russians could build an airstrip long enough
to handle its bombers. Nobody took into account that the
Nations of the Caribbean had asked Reagan to get those
people out of there. There was even a Combined Civilian
Police force from Jamaica and from Barbados that came ashore
with our Marines after the Army Rangers and the 82nd had
launched the Airborne Assault.

The Brits need a reminder that we helped end the British Empire
and the shame that we brought on them was compounded 90 years
later by the Zulu's.

Piss on all of Western Europe.

And let the Russians know that we will not defend Western Europe.
They want to lob missiles at them...go ahead, just leave us out of
it. Those fucking Western Europeans would be on their worthless
hands and knees begging us to stay.

The report is somewhat dated, but it puts the figure for the stationing of troops in Germany at $4 billion annually (page 3). For that, the U.S. gets force projection capacity by using German soil as an "unsinkable aircraft carrier", training space, and a famous hospital in closer proximity to war theaters in the Middle East, not to mention the deterrence value of troops stationed on NATO soil abroad. Also, the German government relinquishes part of their sovereignty over their soil and pays an annual sum compensating the U.S. for the costs, though this number seems a closely guarded secret and is nowhere to be found. South Korea pays about $765mn against a cost of $1.1bn (page 21), Japan pays about $1.9bn against a cost of $2.5bn (pages 40, 41). I'd expect German burden sharing to come in at roughly the same proportion.

Be that as it may, leaving Germany would require these troops be housed / stationed elsewhere, either in the U.S. or abroad, with costs associated accordingly.

And even if the total sum of $4bn - one tenth of one percent of the federal budget, roughly - would be saved, annually, I am having some doubts paradise would break out in the U.S.

But hey, there never was any cost associated with making policy decisions in a trumpian tantrum, so...

Then ask US to leave or stfu.

Until they do that, or pay their own share, they are just ungrateful children.

I was stationed over there while in the US Army, and this saddens me, but it does not surprise me.

We were (and kinda-sorta still are) a benign occupying force, and that for an entire lifetime, since 1945.

Maybe it's time to pull the plug.

With us gone from Europe, we'll see how well those pseudo-socialist countries do, once they have to shoulder the entire burden of defense.

First things on the chopping block will be universal healthcare and tuition... things the LibProgs like to use as political weapons over here.

With one caveat...

If the Germans ever again make us come over there to smack them down... three strikes and you're out.

If the German had any idea how much higher their already high taxes would have to go to finance their own defense, they'd feel much different.

Do you believe Putin is waiting for his opportunity to invade western Europe?
Russia is nowhere near powerful enough.
No? What about the five tanks joke armies?

A war between Russia and the EU would be a disaster for both sides and both sides know it. WW2 was going on a century ago now. The world is changing. Lighting fast travel and the internet have fused cultures more than ever more. I really don't think that kind of conflict will ever happen again.

Or maybe they'll show us that in the year 2018 a giant military is no longer needed.

Are you drunk this early in the day?

Hitler came to power in 1919, almost exactly a century ago.

September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland.

I said it was going on a century ago, and that's true. The world and cultures have changed drastically since then. I don't think there will ever be another conflict of that magnitude.
