Gop Offers These 11 Principles

  • Poverty: The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job, so our focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work.
Platitudes that dodges the problems. The issue is how will you bring jobs to those who need it? How does government enforce strong families?

This issue is that anyone believes the fairy tale that government creates any job outside of the government without creating inflation or raising taxes, both of which erode the benefit of having a job, and creating a "strong family."

Both Repubs and Democrats need to stop shoveling the shit that either party will create government that should do more than regulate businesses to protect the public, and then get the fuck out of the way of commercial development.

About time the GOP told America what it was offering.

"Pushing back against criticism that the GOP had become defined entirely by opposition to President Obama, Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus released a list of 11 “Principles for American Renewal” that he said would guide the GOP agenda should it gain control of government."
GOP debuts new principles to demonstrate positive agenda MSNBC

Any disagreement on these ideas for governing?

Here are the Republican Party's Principles for American Renewal

  • Constitution: Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored.

  • Economy: We need to start growing America’s economy instead of Washington’s economy so that working Americans see better wages and more opportunity.

  • Budget/Debt: We need to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, make government more efficient, and leave the next generation with opportunity, not debt.

  • Healthcare: We need to start over with real healthcare reform that puts patients and their doctors in charge, not unelected bureaucrats in Washington.

  • Veterans: Our veterans have earned our respect and gratitude, and no veteran should have to wait in line for months or years just to see a doctor.

  • Security: Keeping America safe and strong requires a strong military, growing the economy, energy independence, and secure borders.

  • Education: Every child should have an equal opportunity to get a great education; no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing school.

  • Poverty: The best anti-poverty program is a strong family and a good job, so our focus should be on getting people out of poverty by lifting up all people and helping them find work.

  • Values: Our country should value the traditions of family, life, religious liberty, and hard work.

  • Energy: We should make America energy independent by encouraging investment in domestic energy, lowering prices, and creating jobs at home.
  • Immigration: We need an immigration system that secures our borders, upholds the law, and boosts our economy.

What's not to like?

Well aside from the fact that there is no PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH THOSE LOFTY GOALS is a problem.
That and I didn't see anything about puppies, apple pie and mom.

" ....there is no PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH THOSE LOFTY GOALS."

Sure is, Zekey.....

It's called "Throw Out Every Democrat/Liberal/Progressive."

Really nothing new.....Shakespeare's Henry VI, a similar plan: "kill all the lawyers. ..."
You realize that's not a plan, right? Say it happened, all democrats/liberals/progressives are thrown out. What then?

  • Education: Every child should have an equal opportunity to get a great education; no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing school.
Education is more than vouchers. Republicans need to get away from their pet bandaid solution and look at the entire education picture at all levels

"look at the entire education picture?"

What in the name of Fuck is that supposed to mean? You don't think there's anyone looking? There's no Dept of Education?

Lemme guess, you mean we need to SPEND MORE MONEY. There's a shocker.

Newsflash: The picture HAS been looked at: Some schools suck. Vouchers are one alternative, for some parents but not all. Just because they are not alternatives for EVERY parent doesn't mean they should be denied to ALL parents.

What that means is you need to look at our entire education system from Pre-K to our universities. We are pathetic when it comes to worldwide educational performance and vouchers is a bandaid of limited scope.
We need to get better teachers, demand better performance from our students, make secondary education more affordable

School vouchers and disbanding the Dept of Education does not do that

The government creates millions of jobs outside the government. The entire US Defense Industry is government funded. So is all infrastructure improvements. Can the government stimulate employment through its policies? Of course it can

Remember the last time the Rs did this? They wanted to stop being known as The Stupid Party and came out with a whole re-branding thing. It was a complete flop because they just kept right on obstructing and filibustering against anything that would help the economy or the people.

I guess you missed the part where this "stimulation" comes at a cost.

It does not magically happen. Incidentally, there is also no Santa Claus.

The cost is higher inflation and taxes.

But to notice this you'd need to be able to overcome the economic myopia that persists despite the fact that we've been "stimulated" for decades, yet government demands more "stimulation" because it is never enough.

  • Energy: We should make America energy independent by encouraging investment in domestic energy, lowering prices, and creating jobs at home.
Sounds like drill baby drill and frack baby frack. What about other energy? Solar, wind, biofuel, nuclear.....can we talk conservation?

Actually "Domestic Energy Investment" includes solar.

Doesn't the sun shine where you are in the USA?

It shines in his area of the USA, however his head is somewhere where the sun don't shine.

No shit......everyone wants that

You sure?

For Republicans, that means screwing your secretary, having a wide stance, starving the elderly and children, laundering money and a whole list of other really scummy things, then appearing on camera with your idiot wife, running for office and getting the same fools to vote for you again - all while thumping a bible and lecturing to others about their own lack of "family values".

Don't have them

I also don't have an oil well in my back yard

So what do you as a good little Democrat to conserve?

Dodges the question about what we do with 12 million who are already here
