I am a fan of Trump as an entertainer but couldn't possibly give him my vote for president given the simple fact that his last job was a reality TV show host... he has no experience! With that said, I do have to agree with Correll... There are many tricky ways he could get funds for the wall, perhaps not a 10 Billion dollar check from Mexico, but we have enough leverage to get that from our trade deficit or other means.Yeah, and he's gonna build a wall that Mexico will never pay for, and in being tough on China, he's going to continue to have his and his families clothing line made there.
What do you base that assumption on?
Because none of you can explain how he'll force Mexico to pay for a wall it doesn't want, and because the factories in Mexico and China are churning out Trump products nonstop even as I write this.
There has been plenty of discussion of how Trump might get the Mexicans to pay for it.
And your concern about his clothing line is noted. Trump the businessman played by the crappy rules other people wrote.
That is not reason to believe that Trump the President might not change those rules to benefit the people that put him in office.
And who will be the people who decide whether or not he gets a second term.
Anything that Trump has stated he would do to make Mexico pay for the wall is something that has to be done by Congress, not just him, and McConnell has ALREADY said that the GOP is going to drop Trump like a hot rock if he's the nominee.
And, if Trump REALLY cared about this country, he would have had his clothing lines made here in the USA (yes, there are clothing manufacturers here in the USA), but instead, he chose to cut costs and ship the jobs over to China.
Nope, sorry, but Trump doesn't have any clue as to how to get things done.
Trump has not said what he will do.
As an experienced negotiator, he knows that you do not publish, for your opponent to review, your entire negotiating plan in advance.
It is understandable if you did not know that.
And your pretense that you care about Trump making clothing overseas and not here is noted.
I replied to that and you ignored the points I raised.
As for the clothing... Trump has always been a business man and has shown some dominating smarts and success in that field. The way the world is set up right now makes it nearly impossible to run a successful business with American made products, especially in the textile world. I have a side business making sports apparel and I would love to manufacture in America but there is just no way I can make reasonable margins and still be price competitive. I just don't think the "made in China" argument is a strong one to rally anti-trump support. He is applying the smartest strategies to build a successful business, some have failed but in the end he has shown great success, you aren't going to touch that... move on to the next point.
