This article asks a question....are the gun gangs in Britain getting more ruthless....?
Are Merseyside's gun gangs becoming more ruthless?
In the past seven weeks gun blasts from Litherland to Haydock have led to armed officers being deployed and streets being cordoned off.
The series of incidents represents one of the most ruthless sprees of the past few years - and appear to have seen “warning” shots fired at homes and vehicles replaced by more brutal incidents.
Shootings on Merseyside have risen over the past two consecutive years, with a toxic cocktail of factors thought to have been responsible.
-----
What has stood out about recent incidents is the number that have left people injured.
------------
But the last 28 months have seen more than 150 shootings on Merseyside, and a spate where so many consecutive blasts have led to injury has been rare.
But........they banned hand guns in Britain...and it is an island.....
Another possible concern is the use of handguns in recent attacks.
