Have always like him and have several of his albums from the 60s, as well as 'Rise" from 1979, of course, but have not heard much of his own since, until you posted this from 2019. He has raised up a host of really good jazz musicians on A&M. Amazing history. I guess he would have been about 84 back in 2019.
