Of course, the religious have distorted that. With many religious throwing their gay children out of their family. Remember back in 2005, Obama's senate opponent, Alan Keyes disowned his gay daughter and threw her out of the family. Gay organizations stepped in and helped her out. Alan did it in the name of "Family Values".

Today, his daughter, Marcel-Keyes, is pro life, pro school choice. She believes in access to health care, education, housing, the right to food and they should be considered Human Rights. Being a conservative, she has a number of positions I disagree with, but she is still his daughter.
