He didn't contest it. It was contested by the previous owner of the site. In fact, the site sold at auction for about half of what was offered. Greed on the part of the old lady effected her heir.

ED is not the basis for which we advance society. What we would have is a road or 2 that curved in a few places around an empty lot (after the owners realized living in the middle of a freeway is less fun than selling their land).
