The bailout is an effort to keep the farms functioning. There are a lot of mouths to feed and if farms have problems, people go hungry.
As for Socialism, the primary founding ideology of our nation which split from England, was to end a large central Monarchy that taxed the colonists, while not taxing British teas and began honoring the treaties with the Native tribes, which the colonists resented, as they wanted more territory and considered the Native tribes as savages (sadly).
They believed that power came from the people and that individual states should have their own rights not covered under the Constitution, rather than a strong federal government which controlled everything. The Bill of Rights under the Constitution (i.e., the Amendments), further insured that individuals had many practical freedoms which the public lacked under a Monarchy. The Freedom of Speech didn't exist when the Constitution and Amendments were drafted and they knew that the English Monarchy squelched dissenters, so that was put in. The newspapers of the era weren't allowed to write anything critical of the crown and the Freedom of the Press was ensured.
As it was civilian militias that helped turn the tide of war in favor of the colonists, they created the Second Amendment to ensure that civilians could again create militias should they need to bear arms, in the event of another conflict with a tyrannical government, whether foreign or..... domestic. As the kings soldiers could burst into peoples homes without provocation, they put restraints on this as well. As the Kings Church of England held sway over the populace they created the Freedom of Religion. On and on the Amendments have been added, as necessary to ensure our liberties.
You will see nothing Marxist-Leninist about the Constitution, for Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin were not about freedom, but rather, control via a large central government, control over everyone's lives. Their ideology was and is, "Ideology over blood." Meaning their perverse concept over your family and other loved ones.
There are those on the left that will point to the Scandinavian nations and say, there's socialism. Not so. I don't understand why socialists have such a tough time understanding the definition of socialism. I mean, all one need do is Google:

You cant produce without the interference of the US government...they dictate how you do it and how much you should take in and all you have to do is obey, and the government is by the people (community). That's liberalism isn't it ?

You tell me ....because that's how things are in the US.....the government dictates everything and takes your hard earn money and tells you what to do and what no to do. but yet you keep screaming socialism is coming, dude it's already here.....they just give you an expensive health care and non affrodable higher education....put they pumper themselves and their croonies in defense contracts, bailouts and other things.

They absolutely refuse to admit that the size, scope and cost of government exists along a continuum.

They are conditioned to view the world as binary: Good or evil, all or nothing, this or that, socialist or not socialist.

It's difficult to communicate with people with that worldview. It's a very asymmetrical conversation.

Nordic countries are all capitalist, business friendly countries with strong social programs. That is far from socialism.
