I guess the Second Amendment is Being Re-Written

Did ya SEE the OP? No? Go back to the very first post in this thread then click on the picture. A picture is an image of something taken with a camera (just in case you don't know). Then, after you click on the pretty picture read what it says. Then ask yourself if you believe what you are reading or not. Okay? If you have any further difficulties seek out a big person and he or she will help you.

Look at the picture. What does it say at the top right of the page?

The picture shows exactly what's in the course. The little addition at the top is drawing attention to the site that brought it to the public's attention and was added after the fact.

For example:

A website advertising itself on the very picture it's presenting.

Prove it. Where did the textbook come from? Who published it? What is the title? What school uses it?

You are pretty fucking arrogant for such a complete idiot.

Nor is their any prohibition against requiring a registration.

In fact, "Well-Regulated" militia would seem to indicate to me that a registration would be necessary? How can you tell who to call up for the Militia if you don't know who can show up with a gun?

What would "shall not be infringed" seem to indicate to you?

We need our militias to ensure the security of a free state. Regstration does not infringe. Registration allows us to regulate our militias. Who has guns, how many, how much ammo, what type.

You miss the main reason why Jefferson wrote the 2nd Amendment in the first place. It's a protection against a rogue government. It's a check/balance to a tyrannical government. So, if our government was to ever be silly enough to stray too far from its Constitutional mandate and beyond its scope of power a well regulated, citizen militia is there to remind it of its "place."

Nobody misses that.

Straying from the Constitution takes time. Enough time for you to go to get your gun out of your locked cabinet. You don't need to carry it with you to Starbucks in order to stop a rogue government.

Just tell me the children aren't being indoctrinated in our public schools.
Common Core is the villain in our schools as it ends up.
Just dummy down the children to be raised as mindless liberal minions.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The Common Core teaching materials in this textbook define the Second Amendment like this:

“This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison.”

The objective of the left is total disarming of the people.

And imposing tyranny.

Did you really feel like that was an important thing for you to say? Haven't you said that same thing hundreds of times already? Do you know what kind of person repeats the same thing over and over as if it is always the first time?

An idiot. An idiot does that.

Since the 2nd amendment right to bear arms can be limited in all of those ways, constitutionally, supported by case law,

what's the lie?

1. The 2nd amendment does not protect the right to keep and bear ALL weapons.

2. The 2nd amendment does not prohibit a registration requirement of certain weapons.

3. The 2nd amendment does not protect the right of convicted felons to own guns.

1) By teaching them how to hit their target.
2) By teaching them who their target is -- "enemies foreign AND domestic."
3) By teaching them that their domestic enemies are working towards abolishing their Constitutional rights.

Does that help?

Have a nice day - domestic enemies.

Now you are talking. We also have to identify "them" so we know who is in our well regulated militia.

A thorough gun registration is essential to a second amendment

Who needs to identify "them?" You? There are LOTS of well regulated militias in the USA that are under citizen control and membership. They know who they are. That's all that matters.

How can they defend us if we don't know who they are and what their capabilities are? How do we coordinate the activities of these supposed well regulated militias?

I do not feel very safe and the security of our free state depends on it

If that is what he meant, those words would be in the Constitution not "A well regulated militia being necessary to a free state"

Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton may have their own interpretations of intent but that intent did not make it into the final document

If the text was supposed to be on the Second Amendment (whoever printed it), why was there any need to alter the words?
It was printed to be used....no doubt about that.
There are areas in the US that would use it because the schools do have agendas.

1. Standard strawman. We do not want bazookas. We want to carry semi automatic pistols and rifles, you know, the same weapons the police (who are civilians) are allowed.

2. Registration is usually a tool used to make getting a firearm so difficult that people give up after a certain amount of time. It is infringement unless it is as simple as getting a driver's liscense.

3. No one disagrees on that, however a felon should be able to appeal to a court to get his 2nd amendment rights reinstated. Also, its for FELONIES, not misdemeanors.

They forgot the part about militias

How dare they?

You folks don't mind Fascism as long as it is you implementing it.

Militias are not fascist

They are necessary to the security of a free state

so RW.....seriously speaking here.....it doesnt bother you that what is being shown is NOT the real Bill of Rights?...i mean if this is being presented to some grade schoolers somewhere in this Country.....thats not teaching the truth is it?...

"Common Core" doesn't make textbooks.

Common Core are testing standards, not curriculums or textbooks or anything else like that.

Textbooks that have the words "Common Core" on them are made by private textbook companies who are claiming to meet the Common Core standards, not "official" textbooks that anyone is being forced to use.

but what if they are being used?.....is that right?....should it be allowed?...

I guess the Second Amendment is Being Re-Written
You would guess wrong, then.

No one is ‘rewriting’ the Second Amendment, the notion is ignorant idiocy and partisan demagoguery.

And as already correctly noted, the textbooks have nothing to do with Common Core policy.

You’re just another tedious rightwing hack trying to contrive a ‘controversy’ where none exists.

Jones its always hilarious when a big left wing hack like you calls someone else a hack....and Meister has questioned Republicans before.....when have you ever questioned the Democrats?.....a hack never questions....so who is the real hack between you 2?.....

Yet, there it is.
Forced or not, this shouldn't have even been available for print, Doc.

There are "textbooks" in print that show Jesus riding dinosaurs.

If you think that textbook sucks, there's a simple answer - take it up with the company that made it.

but yet according to some here that book is in school libraries and it should not be....
