why isn't Israel having a similar problem with Israelis shooting down other Israelis? Just about every Israeli has firearms. But they aren't slaughtering one another.

Because the root cancer isn't a question of what the laws are or are not. The root cause is a cultural glorification of guns and violence. Culture is way more powerful than any law.

So the premise in the title is unfounded.

israel is far more homogeneous than the u.s. and they share common goals and values and they protect their common heritage, culture and traditions.

multi ethnic, multicultural, multilingual "nations/empires" never hold together..people of different cultures, religions, values and ethnicities forced to coexist together as new "nations" always fail.....it never works..it won't work in america, either.
