If possible, should we peacefully split the country?

To split or not to split...that is the question...

Church donations are deemed to be charitable contributions even when services such as child care, etc., are received in return.
And when they go to paving the third parking lot and erecting a huge, flashy, LED sign out front. Charity....pfft...the big churches here are palatial complexes. Charity....riiiight....more like, membership dues.

Why do people here waste time on such a fairytale topic? Ain't no one going anywhere. Put your big boy pants on and get along with your latte drinking neighbors.
Jesus Christ, cope for once instead of whining that you're too special to live and work with anyone who doesn't think like you.

Just what the title asks. If a house divided cannot stand, should the house divide into two or more houses that can stand while we can still seperate peacefully?

Since I believe I am required a link...here it is...

I suggest before anyone votes on this poll to go to the nearest National Cemetery and spent several hours reading the headstones of those who gave their life to support and defend the United States from all enemies, foreign or domestic.

No kidding, are there any left? Haven't you loons knocked them all down?

A very stupid and unpatriotic response. Not unexpected coming from this jerk.

Unpatriotic would be you ass-wipes knocking them over. Stick to grannies and headstones, you'll be much safer.

This is false.

I don't need to go...I signed the dotted line myself and took the oath.

Both my and their oath was to defend the Constitution...not the country.

Had you taken the oath...you'd know that.

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I don't think a link is required for an open poll question.

Therefore I'm not gonna read it. :eusa_snooty:

Splitting is absurd. No way in the world. Why would we do that??

I'll tell ya what we SHOULD do to address the bipolar tension.
Eliminate the fucking Electoral College.

Just think --- a world where cockamamie ideas like "red state" and "blue state" ---- do not exist.

why wouldn't you support secession of red states?
Because i actually still care about those people in those States. I also still think our large, strong union keeps both the US and the rest of the world a more peaceful place.
I think US interventionism in the last 20 years has done more harm to the world than help. We've destabilized the Middle East repeatedly, for example.

The Middle East has been destabilized since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. For example:

How you gonna do that? Even the reddest of the reds and the bluest of the blues are only slightly over the 50% mark either way.

The Constitution establishes the country.
So if you uphold the COTUS, you uphold the US. It's what defines the US.

Left wing nut jobs and right wing nut jobs will never reconcile. You show your prejudice by your remarks, which make me think your too far right with no hope. I don't know the statistics but if independents, right leaning, left leaning are a majoriity in this country then it might me possible. Aristotle's Mean between extremes is a good goal and maybe common ground could be found.

Common ground left a long time ago. Now is the time to face reality before we lose our entire country to Socialism/ Communism.

This freakish cultism ^^ WILL fade, as it has several times in the past. Trump will drop dead eventually, and unstoppable forces will distract more and more people back to more normal lives.

You ever notice when a red state wants to leave blue staters have tantrums?

I didn't read it either.

I really don't know the requirement for polls...figured better safe than sorry.

Whelp --- seems to me if you're just putting up an open question, then you're not asserting a point. If you're not asserting a point, you have nothing to link.

That's my legal brief. If the mods arrest you I'll be your barrister. :deal:

No.
And you know why I didn't notice? Because I don't believe in "red states" and "blue states".
And you know why I don't believe in red and blue states? I don't believe in sweeping generalizations.

That's true to an extent, but the removal of certain strongman governments didn't help. To counter Iran's influence, it was better to have Saddam in Iraq, for example.

The Arab Spring was partially caused by our interventionism, and that led to the removal of Mubarak, who was a better ruler of Egypt than Morsi.

We helped remove Gaddafi, and now Libya has a government ruled by ex-Al Quida and has an active slave trade.

Now, we're trying to remove Assad, but he's a better ruler than the Islamists that would rule Syria if he's removed.
