If this is true, we are in trouble...

The profits increased, and the real incomes decreased according to the chart, what's there to get, they're gouging us left, and right.

Even with a massive increase in American productivity, that wealth created was never seen by the American workers, and probably never meant for the American workers.

Actually, those corporate profits probably only climbed so high because of foreign markets, because we're sure not seeing it come back into our economy with this inflation.

It's not Patriotism that Americans settle for less pay, it's anything but Patriotism.

It's hilarious that so many Republican barbarians think Americans should settle for less.

Republicans, and also Democrats both have no place in a civilized society, they are what you create to destroy a civilization.

I'm sorry but you simply do not know what you are talking about. But hey, you are not the only lefty who doesn't understand even basic economics. Probably that's the biggest reason most leftys are leftys. Do have a pleasant evening.

Americans have NOT ONE CLUE about politics.

I'm no Leftist.
The first Leftists were Capitalists.
I'm a Fascist a true Right-Winger

Capitalism IS LIberalism in a nutshell. Selling drugs, selling abortion, selling porn, hiring illegal immigrants, outsourcing jobs, etc. etc. ALL FOR PROFITS.

Either you're a Conservative, and Nationalist, or a Capitalist, YOU CANNOT BE BOTH. (But, most Americans don't grasp it, like they don't grasp much of anything)

As for the economy, NO, just NO, you Hicks know NOTHING.

FDR achieved the #1 growth with government intervention out of the USA in the 20th Century.
Franco achieved the #1 growth with government intervention out fo Europe in the 20th Century.

It's NOT the hybrid system which is failing, it's the Capitalist system, and the Communist system BOTH which are FAILURES.

Fascism is NOT right wing as the term is understood in America. It is the antithesis of unalienable rights and individual liberty. It is among the kinds of brutal governments the U.S. Constitution was designed to free the people from.

Bull twice.

1.) The American Founding Fathers only allowed about 6% of the USA to vote in the first election, being White land owning males.

That's NOT Individual rights, and Liberty, not even close.

2.) Individualism is LIBERAL, not only does Liberal come from the same root as Liberty meaning freedom, it is in fact Liberalism to believe in Individualism, if you believe Gays, or Blacks, or Jews should be treated as "Individuals" you're a Liberal.

Individualism dictates individual rights for EVERYBODY "Special" and "Different". That's Liberalism in a nutshell.

When you have a better grasp of American history and what our Founders were all about get back to me. Until then, again do have a pleasant evening.

The Founding Father's were overall.

Several months ago I did some research on it, and it turns out that private colleges are making over 20% profit.

How are they able to do that?

They lack the backing of the state to make the 90% profits that government run colleges do.

What is the average annual salary of a tenured Harvard Professor?

$2 million? $3 million?

Do they provide value to students to warrant such confiscatory fees? Is this not exploitation, Comrade?

Whether or not you have an intent of paying it back, even with a degree you probably won't be able to afford to pay it back.

Then you are saying that the education provided is a scam. a rip off that cannot deliver on the promise of a viable career?

In most cases this is true, sadly. Too many schools focus on social movements and provide little in the way of viable skills. An "ethnic studies" degree qualifies one to start riots or to fleece others by teaching the same worthless bullshit.

In most endeavors, if a person cheats me I can sue them for damages. Why should one not be allowed to sue Harvard or Stanford for failing to provide an education that delivers on the promise of a better life? Is not Yale cheating the vast majority of students by indoctrinating them in radical leftism rather than providing them the knowledge needed to succeed?

You can't sue a college.........unless it's Donald Trump's. :21:

They own our Banking industry, Congress, Media, Military ,w/ Foriegn and Domestic policies following suit

They also have zero allegiance to anything past their own coffers

and that's just a start Dark one

~S~

That's a nice Marxist platitude, but does it have any relation to reality? Consider that the majority of the extremely wealthy, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Tim Cook, Mark Zuckerberk et al. are FAR left; how does that mesh with the fantasy that you recite from some Marxist professor?

This is startling, and shows the system that we have isn't working.

Bullshit - a complete lie.

I don't know if you've ever been to America. But ask an American over 50 what the first car they had was, and how much it took to get it.

Hint: It was not a brand new Honda with air and a 10 speaker sound system.

In a free country we don't allow government to run our businesses. If you think that's a great idea, maybe Cuba is more suited for your liking.

Over here, businesses compete by producing and selling at the cheapest cost. It's been that way for decades now. CEO's are not in charge of that, the American consumer is. And until we can adjust our way of thinking when it comes to purchases, it will stay that way.

You can't blame a CEO because a CEO is answering the demands of his or her customers. HTF can you make that a crime or illegal?

Actually, the USA long had strong business regulation through state regulations.

The Rise of Corporations — Global Issues

RACHEL #488: FIXING CORPORATIONS--PART 1: LEGACY OF THE FOUNDING PARENTS

To say that the USA customer is responsible for outsourcing beyond the CEO, is flat out ridiculous.

The CEO's started the outsourcing, and eventually it has got to the point where everybody has to outsource to compete, we don't even have much of a choice anymore.

Because of falling real wages, we are getting also to the point where we also are forced to buy cheaper, and those real wages are falling because of outsourced jobs in large part.

What's best for the people is what's best for the people.

That's not necessarily freedom, if our society is falling apart because of free will, then freedom therefor has very little, in fact perhaps a negative value.

CEO's didn't start outsourcing just for the hell of it. Consumers demanded cheaper products, and now it's to the point of cheapest products.

We have three goals when it comes to production in the US:

* low cost products.
* high paying jobs.
* reasonable to good returns on investment.

The problem is you can't have all three. So we as a country chose good investments and lower priced products.

Lower priced products sell the most. Good investment returns attract more investors. A CEO is in charge of trying to provide both. If a CEO doesn't provide both or either, then that CEO is going to be looking for another job, likely with less pay. That's how it works.

Total bull-shit.

The products never truly became cheaper, if they had real incomes would've not fallen behind so much, because Americans would have not had an inflation epidemic since 1970.

The problem is CEO's are greedy parasites at this point, they're not the same CEO's prior to the 1960's who took care of workers, and took pride in products.

Now it's all about money, and cutting corners to maximize profits at all costs, to outsource as much as possible to muster more profits, at all costs, even if tanks the economy.

Very short-sighted, and greedy, and I quite frankly don't respect such vermin.

You just agreed with me and not even realize it. Yes, the job of a CEO is to maximize profits. That's what they get paid to do.

Companies rely on investors to operate their business. The more investors, the better the company. How do they make profit? By selling the most of the item they manufacture than their competitors. That requires them to produce products at the cheapest price in order to sell them at the cheapest price.

CEO's no longer hold any kind of value for America, they cause only harm for this country.

I'd tell you to get out if you don't agree with America FIRST.

But, Poland doesn't want you, either.

Poland's actually is not so stupid as America's hicks.

I have no desire to go to Poland. A CEO is not there to have value to America, a CEO is there to have value for the company they work for. A company isn't created to provide good jobs and benefits, a company is created to produce products or services for a profit.

I think you have a distorted view of corporations and businesses. They don't have any social obligation to anybody. That's like saying your lawnmower should be able to cut down trees.

If someone is a problem you fix them, if they sell drugs to your kids you put them in jail, if they try to rape your kids you put them in jail, if they sell out your kids future by sending jobs to a semi hostile China, well they should also be put in jail too.

I see no value of a CEO, if they DO NOT produce for the country they are apart of.

If they can't do that, they should be put behind bars, plain & simple.

Well I guess we would have jails loaded with disabled people, welfare people, 47% of the people that pay absolutely no income tax, stay-at-home moms, people who inherited or won money.

That's a lot of people.

The problem is yours, not our country. CEO's run companies that give me work so I can earn money to support myself. CEO's create profits which are taxed that runs our governments. CEO's expand operations when successful to create even more jobs. What do you mean they have no value to the country?

Nobody is beholden to their employers. You or I or anybody can open up our own business anytime we want. We can purchase lawn equipment and do lawns. We can learn a trade like HVAC or plumbing and work for ourselves. You can buy or lease a truck and open up your own delivery service. Then you can make whatever it is you desire.

A story I read years ago, a guy got laid off from his job during the Reagan recession. One day after taking out his dog, he did the chore he hated the most which was picking up after him. Then a light bulb lit over his head. He had a van, he had a shovel, so he started his own dog dodo business.

He sent out flyers in his neighborhood and started to get many calls. He went to other nearby areas and got more customers. He eventually bought another van and hired a worker to handle the overflow. Just like a lawn care business he came out periodically on schedule to clean up backyards for a monthly fee.

I don't know where this idea came from that employers, businesses or corporations owe us a living. You don't have to work for anybody if YOU take the financial risk and work for yourself. Then you can say F your employer. You don't need him or any employer anymore.

I'm a Fascist, not a Communist, or a Capitalist.

What Communist in history has not been a Fascist? :dunno:

A Fascist who clearly has not read "Il Fascisti"

"Why should the state need to own the means of production when the state owns the owners?" - Benito Mussolini.

Communism, and Capitalism BOTH belong in the trash heap for being two sides of the same coin, causing the EXACT same kind of society, one with a wealthy elite ruling over the masses, one where competition is hindered, one by Government being business, the other from Monopolies, both stamp out competition, leading to junky products, lack of innovation, stagnant wages, and high prices as a result of the lack of competition.

No you are economically illiterate like most of the Southern, and Rural Brutish British savages in this country.

If Competition creates innovation, wage increases, and better products, then Communism, and Capitalist Monopolies BOTH get rid of competition in the market place, leading to inferiority of the system.

That's why Capitalism needs to be regulated, plain, and simple.

Under a capitalist economy, only a natural monopoly is possible. A monopoly requires the government to enforce said monopoly, or cannot exist. The exception being a natural monopoly such as owning the only well in town. Natural monopolies are rare and short lived.

Further, Fascism is not "regulated capitalism" as you ignorantly claim (that is termed a mixed economy) but rather the control of the means of production by the state, i.e. socialism.

Yours is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read. rderp/truthmatters stupid.

As for Poland.. Phishing fraud and ransom ware remain the primary exports for Eastern Europe, don't they?

I'll bet the virus writing house you work for has a chief executive of some sort. Who collects the bit coin after you scam some old lady out of her retirement savings? Would that person not be your CEO?

Venezuela started off a lot poorer.

  :lmao:

{During the 1970s, Venezuela was the richest country in Latin America. With the region’s highest growth rates and the lowest levels of inequality, it was also one of the most stable democracies in the Americas. But starting in the early 1980s, things fell apart. The nation endured three coup attempts and one presidential impeachment. Per capita growth plunged, and mass protests became the norm. What happened?}

Venezuela Before Chávez: Anatomy of an Economic Collapse by Ricardo Hausmann and Francisco R. Rodríguez

The depth of your ignorance is astounding.

Why don't you compare Venezuela to the rest of Latin America?????????

Venezuela is actually rich by Latino standards, as is Cuba.

So, how do you figure that even works as a "Great dig on Communism"????????

Not that I'm a Communist, I'm a Fascist, I also hate Commies.

Complete bullshit. Whether due to dishonest or just extreme ignorance I cannot say.

Venezuela is the poorest nation in South America by a wide margin.

{
For years, the world watched corrupt socialists turn Latin America’s richest nation, Venezuela, into one of its poorest. Now, as the country’s economy nears total collapse, it’s time to ask what can be done to contain the fallout and help its residents.

Start with its refugees: In a nation whose 2016 population was 31 million, 1.8 million have fled the country over the past two years. This year, it’s 5,000 a day — with the United Nations projecting another 2 million gone by year’s end.

Venezuela’s neighbors bear the brunt of this refugee flood. But more than 28,000 Venezuelans sought asylum in the United States last year, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services notes. That’s up 88 percent from 2016, and 1,300 percent since 2014. There are now three times as many asylum-seekers here from Venezuela as from any other nation.}

https://nypost.com/2018/08/25/borders-wont-be-able-to-contain-venezuelas-disaster/

Most Communists like you try to blame a collapse in oil prices for the disaster of Communism in Venezuela, but that like all things socialist is just a fucking lie.

20130309_woc172_0.png

Oil INCREASED during the reign of Chavez.

Nope, you are economically illiterate, like most Americans.

Capitalism is stagnant in wages for decade after decade, JUST LIKE the COMMUNISTS.

You tell me why that is?

Because Capitalism is ALSO a GREAT FAILURE.

Son, spewing mindless Marxist platitudes will not make you appear to have a grasp of economics to your superiors here.

What is your favorite economic text, and why? Or better, what is the most important concept you have gleaned from the "General Theory."

{LOL, which you can't even name the author of without searching Google.}

Your last statement proves once AGAIN you are economically illiterate, Socialism is regulation of the economy NOT really Social Programs, a typical Conservative IDIOCY As ALWAYS.

Of course I want the economy regulated, against outsourcing, against illegals, against monopolies which drive down competition allowing for lay offs, and jacked up prices.

Socialism is the control of the means of production by the state.

You are a shitty Fascist if you fail to remember that Mussolini, you know, the guy who WROTE THE FUCKING BOOK adamantly advocates complete control of what you will ignorantly call "corporations".

You've bit off far more than you can chew.

Right and left have different meanings to Euroweenies.

I am American. Right wing here roughly means fiscal and social conservatism mixed with classic liberalism.

The left are Marxist/Fascist/Stalinists.

And most of what you claim of Stalin was in fact Hitler. Stalin was a more prolific mass murderer than Hitler, but the purge of the Gypsies was all Adolf. Stalin engaged in genocide in the Ukraine. Kulaks were a socail class, not an ethnicity.

Wages are irrelevant.

No one works for wages.

People work for goods. How much time did it take in 1980 to earn enough for a loaf of bread? How much time was needed to buy a home stereo? How much time to earn a New York Steak. How much time for a brand new car with air conditioning, AM/FM stereo, automatic transmission. How much time to buy a watch, a flashlight, a camera, a television set, etc.

People in America are VASTLY richer at all levels of the economy than we were 36 years ago. My children have VASTLY more than I did at their age. The ONLY exception is housing cost.

These statistics are claimed to be true:
1. 50% of American wage earners earn less than $30k.
2. 63% of Americans can’t afford a $1,000 emergency.
3. 80% of American workers live pay check to pay check.
4. Since 1973 American productivity has increased by 77%, yet hourly pay has grown by 12%. If the minimum wage was tracked to productivity, it would be over $20 an hour today.
5. 41% of American workers earn less than $12 per hour, with most without employer provided HC.
6. Since 2008 the federal government and the Fed created $26 trillion out of nothing. Was any of this enormous sum spent on infrastructure, public education, universal HC, bail out 5.1 million people who lost their homes?

Not a pretty picture for the poor and middle class. Hopefully things are improving or we are headed for big trouble.
Its pretty much the same over here. I will also add in zero hours contracts. A large section of society does not earn enough to save for a pension and this will have a huge impact in 20 years or so.

Inequality is the big problem. Capital exploits the differences to drive down wages. Strike for better pay or conditions and we will move your job to India where they will work for half your pay. How to break the cycle is a big conundrum.

It's not a big conundrum.

All that needs to happen is to take away all the tax benefits of moving jobs out of America and impose huge penalties to move our jobs to low wage nations.

Impose huge penalties in the form of huge taxes on all companies that move our jobs to other nations. Make it very expensive to move our jobs out of our nation. The republicans enacted tax laws that reward companies for moving out of our nation in the reagan years when reagan was sending our jobs to Japan. When the House was in democratic hands in 2007 they passed a bill that removed tax benefits for moving our jobs to other nations. The republicans filibustered it when it got to the senate. republicans won't do one thing to penalize any company that moves our jobs to other nations.

When greedy CEOs and business owners see that it's more expensive to move our jobs out of the nation they will stop doing it.

Tariffs won't stop it. Giving corporations and business huge tax cuts won't stop it.

Imposing huge penalties will.

However, I thought trump and republicans have been declaring us at full employment with 3.7% unemployment. Why would anyone worry about jobs being sent off shore if we have such low unemployment?

By the way, the unemployment rate was 4.7% when Obama left office. trump has lowered the unemployment rate by 1% in nearly 2 years, yet republicans and conservatives believe he's responsible for such a low unemployment rate.

When any republican lowers the unemployment rate from 10% down to 4.7% I'll give them credit for it. Yet I've not seem any republican president do that in the last over 20 years.

I like my criminalizing of outsourcing better as it should be a even better deterrent than taxes.

Furthermore if you tax them like that they might start up in China their companies with no one to stop them.

However in jail they can't do anything about it & that is the beauty.

You have a point to that.

America takes the wrong approach to problems. We don't address the real problem.

Corporations and big business have way too much power in America.

Corporations and big business can commit crimes and nothing is done.

For example undocumented workers. Every business that hires one becomes a criminal when they hire an undocumented worker yet nothing is done about the crimes they commit.

All that has to happen is strong laws passed and enforced. When business people see others financially ruined and sent to prison for hiring an undocumented worker, no business will hire one.

It's quick, cheap and will actually work.

Just like either penalizing or putting those who send our jobs to other nations in prison.

We also need better laws on our financial sector with them actually enforced. People need to go to prison for financial crimes but we don't hear much about people going to prison for that anymore. Most of those who caused the collapse in the bush boy years sure didn't go to prison. Some band aid laws were passed in the Obama years but trump and the republicans have pretty much reversed those laws now.

It just shows that our politicians don't want to solve problems. They want to use those problems for their own political benefit and gain.

In a nutshell, the plan is to abolish the ability of some to acquire vast amounts of wealth off of the labor of others.

But you don't mind if the masses leach sustenance off of the intellect and ambition of others. Face it, you promote the oppression of the most able at the hands of the least willing.
It is the minority group that is oppressing the masses. It is the minority group that is leaching off the labor of others. That is what you promote.

Pay the worker the full value of what he creates.

If you pay the worker full value of what he creates, how does a company stay open?
They simply takes less profit.

So if I rent a building and buy machines to make chairs, then hire a man to run a lathe, you imagine that I should give him the entire selling price of the chair?

Progressive Communism is founded in stupidity.
Not exactly. You can take the share necessary to pay the rent and maintain the equipment if you like. You shouldn't be making a profit off of the labor of others. That is akin to slave owning.

You pay 600 a month for cable and a cell phone?

Get HULU and a Trac phone

I have six lines on my phone and no, I like my cable but thanks. I know there are alternatives. I also have Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Then stop whining how expensive it is.

Whining? I am stating facts. And these are just some of the expenses. You picked out two...seriously?

And no one is forcing you to spend so much on things like cell phones and cable.
And yes everything is more expensive than it was 40 years ago tell me at what point in time was that never true?

Seems to me the middle class is getting squeezed because most of them live well in excess of their means. If your parents were middle class I'll bet you that they didn't spend extravagantly on things like phones and TV but you do and you're saying it's because you're getting squeezed?

Cell phones were not readily available and cable was cheaper. Mostly housing was much cheaper that was the delta. Additionally school sports were free and I pay $500 per kid per sport excluding unis and special events. Taxes and gas are much higher. Tuition was 75% cheaper at colleges. You may attack me all you like but life is waaaay more expensive now. Few companies still offer pensions. My ex employer paid for my MBA. That is rarely available now. Oh and you can go f@ck your sanctimonious self.

Stop whining
