Being ex military.......I'm love the 1911......fits my hand like a glove.

The "1911 handgun" ...... Thin and slim. Great for carrying "Cocked and Locked" and drawing quickly and shooting. Great for anti-barrier ( walls - engine blocks - car doors ) as well as anti-personnel applications.

185 Grain .45 ACP has near / like ballistics of the 180 grain .40 caliber. Two different bullets with almost same ballistics = Energy and velocity.

9mm +P ( .355 diameter bullet ) has near .357 Magnum ballistics

I like 9mm for anti-personnel and long distance ( about 80 yards ) flat shooting and for firepower on a distant.....and/or multiple targets.

I like the 45 ACP for Anti-barrier and anti-personnel combined applicaitons ; and where energy is needed close up.

I am looking to get a Sig P229 .40 caliber in the future.

I carried a "1911" .45 in "A security job" while I was in Korea ( 2nd Infantry Division). I still have the "Weapons Card" in a photo album in my house.
