Wow, you are old. It seems you aren't clear on what the House and the Senate are supposed to be doing. It's right there. In a little document called "The United States Constitution".
And that includes "oversight". To let a criminal loot our country shows an extreme lack of due diligence. Getting elected to congress means you have to practice oversight. You can't escape. It's part of what you are supposed to do.
