Kennedy said:

"ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"

Is there any democrat or liberal in the USA today that would say those words? Or is there any democrat or liberal in the USA today that believes those words?

The democrat party has become the party of huge government and dictatorial socialism. Kennedy and Truman would be republicans if they were alive today.

Conservatives always take what Kennedy said out of context. He was asking the best and the brightest to forego high paying jobs on Wall Street which would make them rich, and take low paying public sector/volunteer jobs which would help all Americans lead a better life.

Kennedy worked to improve voter rights for blacks, and poor people. Do you think he'd be working for the party which raised gerrymandering to an art form, and which passes restrictive voter ID laws which target minorities and the poor with laser-like focus?

Kennedy proposed the Civil Rights Act (which passed after his death), and education rights for all. Do you think he'd work for the party which opposes worker rights, affirmative action, and which actively sought to destroy unions?

Americans see Jack Kennedy as a heroic Presidents who is a role model. But the man who created the modern Democratic Party would most definitely not be a modern day Republican.

Kennedy would not be welcome in today's Democrat party. When was the last time anyone heard from a conservative Democrat? Zell Miller was the last one I know of.

I doubt Ronald Reagen would be welcomed in the Republican party today with these jack asses like McConnell and Lindsey Graham.
Reagan was god damn Russian hating Rino. (-:

Reagan ended the cold war, brought down the Berlin wall, and destroyed the USSR. Reagan and Gorby had a good honest relationship. Were you alive during those years?
If you are playing that game

Bush 41 ended the Cold War

nice dodge, still waiting for that list of today's democrats who believe and practice what Kennedy said as quoted in the OP. Who are they? Pelosi, Schumer, Franken, Sharpton, the Clintons, Obozo? Who?

They? They certainly aren't trying to pass a healthcare bill that has 17% support from the American people.

Doesn't sound too Republican to me
Only because you are such a dupe as to believe Rs want the poor to die.

DUPE!!!

All but a handful of Republicans were prepared to strip nearly 10% of the population, many of them poor and middle class Republicans with pre-existing conditions, including those Kentucky coal miners who voted for Trump, of their access to healthcare.

Since Kennedy worked throughout his political life, to improve and expand Medicare, I seriously doubt he'd be voting for any form of repeal and replace which was proposed by Republicans either.

Kennedy made me admire the principals upon which your nation was founded. I suspect similar admiration is the reason why so many on the right admire him.

When Jack Kennedy was in power, the poor had a 20% shot of working their way up through poverty to middle class. Today, they have a 2% shot.

No, I don't think Kennedy would want anything to do with today's lily white, the poor are lazy criminals who need a good dose of tough love and family values, Republicans.

He worked to improve and expand Medicare? Medicare didn't come into existence until after his death. How was he able to expand something that wasn't? How did he improve a program that wasn't created yet? Healthcare was on his agenda.

You're right. His SS funded Medicare bill for the elderly was narrowly defeated. But health care was a focus. LBJ is the guy who got it passed.

Got to wonder,

if Kennedy was such a conservative, why was he hated by conservatives in his day?

Got to wonder....

How can you be so fucking stupid as to not be able to recognize the evolution (good and bad of either party)? You voted the HildaBitch, you'd NEVER have voted for JFK.

LBJ passed Medicare "because JFK wanted it"

Of course Republicans don't want the poor to die

They need them to provide low cost labor

Excuse us who is the ones crying on these boards that they need illegals to pick fruit and rabbit food, the leftys or rightys?

Who makes the profits off those low cost workers?

First of all I never voted once for Hillary Clinton, and being from NY, I had 7 chances.

You don't even know what JFK stood for.

JFK was far better than Reagan , but Reagan was okay and certainly far better than the assholes who followed him.

JFK was in a class by himself. He wanted to terminate the military industrial complex, the CIA, and the Deep State...and put an end to the Cold War, which is why they murdered him.

you are 100% correct, Kennedy would not work for the democrat party today.

the dems invented gerrymandering

the civil rights act was filibustered by democrats and only passed because of GOP votes

Kennedy supported a strong military and used it to blockade Cuba. No dems of today would do that.

the dem party has gotten the black vote for 50 years, and black poverty is worse today than it was 50 years ago. Its called lying and pandering for votes.
