Kushner Loses Top Secret Security Clearance

This is apparently why Kushner doesn't have a permanent security clearance.

Foreign officials discussed manipulating Kushner via his business arrangements, U.S. officials say
Try a link that works. But off the top of my head, did those foreign officials ask his permission? What kind of control would Kushner have over anything like that?

Link doesn't work for you? Funny, it works for me. But, since you're having problems and can't get it to work for you and I'm feeling generous, let me help you out..................

From the link you can't get to work...........................

Officials in at least four countries have privately discussed ways they can manipulate Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, by taking advantage of his complex business arrangements, financial difficulties and lack of foreign policy experience, according to current and former U.S. officials familiar with intelligence reports on the matter.

Among those nations discussing ways to influence Kushner to their advantage were the United Arab Emirates, China, Israel and Mexico, the current and former officials said.

It is unclear if any of those countries acted on the discussions, but Kushner’s contacts with certain foreign government officials have raised concerns inside the White House and are a reason he has been unable to obtain a permanent security clearance, the officials said.

Kushner’s interim security clearance was downgraded last week from the top-secret to the secret level, which should restrict the regular access he has had to highly-classified information, according to administration officials.

If Kushner can be manipulated financially, he can be compromised by other countries. THAT is the problem he is currently having.
Did you read what I said? I said Kushner does not control those circumstances.

Kushner may not have any control over whether or not other countries try to manipulate him, but BECAUSE he can possibly be manipulated is why he shouldn't have a security clearance. The reason an investigation is done on people who need security clearances is to make sure that they can't be leveraged, blackmailed, or manipulated into selling state secrets.

If you have crappy credit and are in the military, they will deny you a security clearance because you could be manipulated by money and talked into selling secrets.

Foreign officials discussed manipulating Kushner via his business arrangements, U.S. officials say
With this corrupt administration, there is no line drawn between business and governing.

Ah, hell. Just because he is inept because he has no background, and just because there is nepotism beyond that of any other administration, ever, Kushner is the definition of a security risk. Along with his father and Trump he owes more than he has any legal method of covering. Ruskies love the guy. He figures in their future plans.
Now, maybe getting tossed out of his job will keep him out of jail.

Apparently, Kushner's security clearance has just been downgraded from Top Secret/SCI down to only Secret. Now? He doesn't have the required clearances to do his job as Trump's top advisor. Wonder where they are going to put him now?

And...................this downgrade is going to have a serious effect on his ability to do the job of negotiating Middle East peace.

I understand that. What has he done to make whoever think that he can? Surely some people in that position have had a lot of money. What test did they pass?

He’s not the only one.

He has been downgraded from SCI (sensitive compartmented information) access to Secret level, according to the publication.

All other White House aides working on high-level interim clearances also had their access downgraded, according to a memo reportedly sent to staffers on Friday. Earlier that same day, Trump said he would leave it up to his chief of staff, John Kelly, to decide what access Kushner should have.

“General Kelly respects Jared a lot and General Kelly will make that call,” Trump said at a joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the time.

Kushner no longer receives the President’s Daily Brief, Reuters reports. His access to the highly classified intelligence briefing has been cut off in the past few weeks, sources told the news service.

Kushner is reportedly accepting the decision and “will not ask for special permission” from the president, according to CNN.

Kushner loses access to top-secret intelligence

It's about time. What took so long? Why does he still have a "secret" security clearance. I'm sure Mueller knows a lot of heavy stuff about all of this.
So he's now gotta stay outta Ivanka's purse...

Again, apparently you didn't read the part of the link that I posted for you, as well as haven't really read my posts, so I'll try to explain it again............

Kushner has a lot of complex financial dealings worldwide, he also has a lot of debt, as well as has little to zero political experience. If another country offers him enough of a sweetheart business deal in exchange for secrets, he might go for it, and apparently, there are those in the intelligence agencies that think so as well. And, because of his lack of government experience, he might give away things he thinks are of no consequence in exchange only to find out later that they were secrets. Remember Trump having the Russian delegates in the Oval Office where he was talking about classified information with them? The FBI is afraid Kushner might do the same thing.

And, like I said.................if you apply for a security clearance in the military and you have crappy credit and are heavily in debt? That is automatic disqualification.

Brennan was a fucking communist, and he had a top secret security clearance. This is horseshit.

What hysterics.

Never in the history of mankind have so many libs been butt hurt over
nothing.

It's a fucking interim clearance.

He cannot read or access the President's daily briefing. Wow!

As for Kelly. He has just received a thumbs up from the POTUS.
For all of those that wrote of Kelly's departure...that's out the window.
The Donald has complete confidence in him.

After the Porter deal...Kelly changed procedures. They are now being
implemented on the staff with interim clearance.

Give it a break

Reading your post shows that you know nothing about security clearances. Interim clearance is given while the investigation is being conducted, with a permanent one being given if they pass, and the clearance being revoked if they don't.

And yeah, in a job at that level, it is important to be able to see and hear all the information that comes through. Why? He needs to be able to brief and counsel the president on what is contained in them.

He can't do his job if he can't read the briefings.

never mind.

He cannot get a top secret security clearance because of the existence of the investigation not because of anything discovered in the investigation.

He cannot get a top secret security clearance because of the existence of the investigation not because of anything discovered in the investigation.

Care to explain how you came to that assumption?

The whole reason for the investigation is to make sure there isn't anything in your past that could compromise you and coerce you into giving up secrets. Once the investigation is completed, his clearance goes from Interim Top Secret to just Top Secret. Interim is the word that lets everyone know that the investigation isn't completed yet. If anything is found in the investigation that says you can be compromised, you go from Interim Top Secret to no clearance at all, or a downgraded one if you are still eligible for it.

It's about time. What took so long? Why does he still have a "secret" security clearance. I'm sure Mueller knows a lot of heavy stuff about all of this.

This basically means that Kushner will not be able to do his "job", not that he was any good at it in the first place.

This is exactly why nepotism laws are in place...to prevent idiots who can't get a TS/SCI clearance (like Kushner, like Ivanka, like Don Jr., etc) from having access to sensitive information. Kushner didn't get the TS/SCI clearance because he simply cannot be trusted and is probably a prime candidate for blackmail based on his past shady financial dealings.

Those 3 stooges are nothing but a major national security risk, just like idiot Trump himself.

everyone in the Trump Cartel who hasnt been fully vetted by now should have their SC yanked just like Kershner did.
Do you think his clearance completely evaporated? I think he can still see things you wouldn't understand or have a chance in Hell of seeing.

Actually a secret clearance is basically nothing. I had a secret clearance still 7 years after getting out of the Corps.

That is correct. Having a Secret clearance without access to Top Secret/SCI information makes you essentially useless.

A BIG hit on Kelly for allowing Kushner access to information he was not cleared to obtain, but a huge hit on the Orange Turd for allowing it at all. POTUS failed to follow his Oath of Office...an impeachable offense!

It is my understanding that the POTUS can give anyone he wants clearance to look at whatever he wants, no matter what their official clearance is. I could be mistaken, but I think it is correct

Not if Trump is violating nepotism laws, which he has done from Day 1 of his Presidency.

No, she's not. Whether or not it's a violation of the law is almost irrelevant. It's unethical as hell for Trump to employ his relatives in top White House positions. Not that a worthless Repug like you gives a fuck about unethical behavior.
