Bush came in and passed massive multi-trillion, multi-year spending bills from a massive tax cut that mainly benefitted the ultra wealthy and did nothing to boost GDP growth at all, to the "No child left behind" act. And many many more. They had a lot of "stimulus" spending bills in there as the Bush economy crumbled. Obviously you didn't pay attention to politics back then.
And lets not even get into the insane fuck up known as the Bush war in Iraq that wasted more trillions.

Bush was a mega spender and the results showed that. When he left office he turned a balanced budget into a mega trillion dollar deficit.
