Bush didn't deregulate the banks. They were regulated. The regulations caused the crisis.
No, the reckless actions of bankers caused the crisis. It's like saying a crosswalk caused you to get hit by a car when you played in traffic.
The bankers KNEW that the loans they were writing were bad. They knew the people they were writing them to had no ability to pay them back. They knew these were garbage loans when they sold them as investments.
They did it anyway, because a lot of them were getting rich quick doing so. and they knew the government would bail them out.
But you keep being a "Battered Wife Conservative".
