Muslim workers fired over prayer dispute

Cargill is under no obligation to provide the accommodation if it puts the company under a hardship, it's an assembly type workplace and would create a unreasonable hardship to the company.

How would a worker's leaving the line to take a smoke break "cause unreasonable hardship"? Are you ignorant enough to think that these workers are proselytizing on the line? They're not Evangelicals.

I have never worked in a place where people got a 'smoke' break they either smoked on their break or lunch break.

Labeled or not, people get breaks on the job.
Yes and these fucking rag heads got the same 'breaks' as anyone else asshole!
These muslims are attempting to bring their religious beliefs into the workplace. Fucking bastards who drive cab but will not pick up women. Will not pick up people with dogs. Treat their females worse than dogs. Sexually mutilate little girls. Murder females who have been raped. Taught to lie and deceive.
We have a country founded on the principle of separation of church and state. These fucking sand monkeys refuse to live by our principles. Their ultimate goal is to turn every country they live in into an Islamic country.
BTW for you ignorant rag head supporters. Cargill is a global business. When the company fired these assholes do you maybe think they first consulted with literally the best legal minds in the world first to be positive no so-called class-action' lawsuit would prevail?
It's obvious the only jobs you've had are making fucking coffee for the 'Makers' in society. The hilarious thing is if you had a business and these fucking sand monkeys were affecting your bottom line by bringing their religion into your production line you'd be the first one to complain.

They denied the breaks at the appropriate times, which is a reasonable accommodation.

I doubt they even got 2 fifteen minute breaks, most places don't even give you that as long as you work less than 40/hrs a week.

Appropriate times according to the employee?

Wow, now it is set by what the employee want and not what the company want. Also I wrote eight hour period and not forty work week.

The company set the break times in rotating shifts and nothing was denied to the employees, and your attempt to claim something was is just total bullshit.

Again you are allowed two break periods and a lunch in a eight hour day, and during that time they were never denied their right to prayer during their breaks, and unless you can prove they were denied their breaks then there is nothing more.

A company set the break times and rotations and does not have to shut a line down to accommodate anyone, and if the employee disagree then find another fucking job that will accommodate them and if not learn that being allowed to pray at work is a luxury and not a state given right except on your break because no one can dictate what you do during your break.

Then why didn't they just set the company breaks to their appropriate time?

The company managed to do that for at least 10 years. Suddenly they've become incompetent. Curious, isn't it?
Or maybe the employees demanded they don't pray in their break times as they don't coincide at exactly the correct time? We can all play guessing games, gwiddon:)

That the company allowed these workers prayer breaks for 10 years is fact. It's in the article in the OP. All you seem to have is guessing games.
Over a ten year period they may have employed greater numbers of Muslims who then began demanding breaks at the correct times for prayers. It seems this might have been an issue, since a senior guy was quoted as saying only a few Muslims could pray at any given time. Let's keep guessing. It's fun.

Bingo!!!!!!

They previously had the right to a prayer break. If they had been Christian, there would have been an uproar on how Christians are targeted and discrimminated against.
The difference you fucking moron Christians don't behave like filthy rag heads do.

Are you a Christian?
NO!
But i know what you are. An asshole!
Cargill changed their policy because the fucking rag heads were taking advantage of Cargills generous accommodations.
The rag heads couldn't resist pushing the envelope. They were warned repeatedly and they thought they were calling Cargill's bluff. As in EVERY other case when sane people must deal with fucking muslims the muslims 100% of the time are the losers.
Those rag heads will never work for another processing plant in their miserable dumb-ass lives.
Maybe they'll decide to become bomb makers instead.

The funny part about that spittle filled post of rage is that Cargill is having a hard time finding anyone to work in their slaughter houses and meat packing plants.

"they will never work in another processing plant".......imagine being condemned to not being able to work in plants most Americans refuse to work in....

But hey- Cargill can probably find illegal immigrants who are not 'ragheads' to do the work.....

Cargill has a file full of thousands of job applicants.
I wonder how many muslims they'll hire to replace the rag heads? There is not a single illegal working at any Cargill plant anywhere.
You just don't get reality pal. Globally run businesses like Cargill NEVER hire illegals. They aren't worth the legal fees later. Especially when there are thousands of 'legals' desperate for a job. Makes no sense.

Yes and these...got the same 'breaks' as anyone else...

Until they suddenly didn't.
Bullshit you fucking idiot! Everyone got a 15 minute break in the morning, half an hour for lunch and 15 minutes in the afternoon. The fucking rag heads wanted to be able to walk away from their work five fucking times a day!

Why do you suppose company policy changed overnight?
Because as usual the fucking rag heads tried to intimate Cargill especially in this time of stupid LIB 'PC'. They thought the political climate was right for them to basically take over how Cargill managed employee break times. Didn't fucking work!
The rag heads are always attempting to bring their sick cult religion into the workplace.
We have something called the separation of church and state. The rag heads believes they are both the same thing. In this country that will never happen.

"Intimidate"? That's hilarious.

You are right. When the fucking rag heads walked out believing that would somehow force Cargill to submit to their filthy fucking violent cult ways Cargill told them to fuck off and never come back. HAAA HAAAA!

You are right.

Out of the blue the company reneges on an arrangement that it's had with its workers for over a decade.

That's what happened first.

All your impotent rage won't change that. It's obvious who in this thread feels intimidated by people at prayer. Say more about this.

It is pathetic the fake Christians here see Cargill as right for denying Muslims their right to prayer.

Cargill will be sued, will lose 10s of hundreds of millions of dollars in a class action law-suit and probably be forced to sell their plant to some other company that isn't a bunch of RELIGIOUS BIGOTS.

No, they walked off the job and refused to return to work, so that is cause to dismiss the individual.

No it's not, because the walk-off is related to a civil right, therefore it is not over yet. Unless you're a naive moron who doesn't think a law suit funded by $billions of dollars supported by CAIR, ACLU, and other liberal left-wing support groups isn't about to blast into the face of Cargill like a cannon at point blank range.

What fucking Civil Rights were denied to them?

Not one Civil Right was denied and to claim that they should be allow to pray and shut a line down is pure fucking stupid!

I would not accept a Christian right to do it nor a Muslim. The rules changed and they have the right to accept them or not, and if it is the fucking not part then fuck them and let them find a job that will allow them to pray whenever they want.

Right to Work states do not have to grant you the right to pray at work on their fucking dime, and you should know this!

Religious practice is a civil right, as long as it isn't criminal in nature. That means companies cannot deny you the day off for your religious observances, or prayer breaks.

Sorry but you're like a bozo or something.

You would be incorrect then. Civil rights pertain to dealing with the government. Companies are private entities. They can deny you the day off for any reason. Hospitals, hotels & gas stations are open almost every holiday to include Christmas. Companies can provide accommodations but they are not required to do so. Plus these workers walked off the line which is a termination cause.

Bottom line: Decent clean Christian values TRUMPS filthy rag head muslims trying to bring their filthy religious zombie cult into the workplace. It' s a day to rejoice!

You weren't there, so you don't know it was 'out of the blue', there could have been issues and demands over prayer times that we're going on for months or years that then came to a head.

I would fire them too if I was the employer. I'm paying them to work not to pray.
If they want to pray they have 16 other hours in the day to do it.

Nothing was out of the blue, dhimmi.

...Cargill says, however, it makes every "reasonable attempt" to provide religious accommodation for all of its employees at the Fort Morgan plant without interrupting operations.

"At no time did Cargill prevent people from prayer at Fort Morgan," said Michael Martin, a spokesman for the Wichita-based company, which is part of the agribusiness giant Cargill Inc. " Nor have we changed policies related to religious accommodation and attendance. This has been mischaracterized."

Cargill also said while reasonable efforts are made to accommodate employees, accommodation is not guaranteed every day and depends on changing factors in the plant.

"This has been clearly communicated to all employees," Martin said.
"There has been a desire among some employees to go in larger groups of people to pray. We just can't accommodate that," Martin said. "It backs up the flow of all the production. We're a federally inspected, USDA inspected plant. We have to ensure food safety. We have to ensure the products we produce meet consumer expectations."

If they were Christian, they never would have been given a break to start with.
