Name A Problem Obama Has Solved. Bin Laden Doesn't Count

Problem he solved?

Republican overconfidence for damn sure. He's turned you all into a comic book character that embodies almost nothing but anger and paranoia.

http://www.usmessageboard.com/race-...blacks-w-or-without-guns-are.html#post6836439

Wasn't that hard to do since most of you already wearing the clothes of intolerance already.

Seems the point of that thread was the lack of intolerance by Blacks against Whites, but you're too dumb to notice that.

You're the one condemning an entire race you racist prick.

Obama, the racist prick, condemned an entire race too, but I'm certain you will excuse that

I think it solved the problem of having a murderer of thousands of Americans not having to face judgment for his crimes.

It's funny that this isn't important to some people at certain times.

I don't consider that to be nearly as big a problem as the fact that there are thousands of innocent people in our criminal justice system. Maybe I just have different priorities, and think it is better to have everyone free that get a momentary satisfaction from a vicious act of revenge. I wasn't always this way, I used to be a lot more petty.

Our own issues with the criminal justice system doesn't lessen the severity of the crimes he was responsible for.

Was it the most pressing issue facing this country? Of course not.

That doesn't make it irrelevant.

Funny, I don't recall saying that, I am just pointing out that, in the overall scheme of things, it is not a major accomplishment. If the best you can come up with in your defense of Obama is that he managed to kill one guy, you might want to rethink your support of his policies.

Here's a better question for the op. Name ANY president that has solved ANY problem 100%, without dispute, alone. Since you require that from Obama it must be easy to point a few examples from past Presidents.

Annnnnd go!

It doesn't have to be alone. Great presidents lead, which means they get people to do the things that need to be done.Off the top of my head, some good examples would be Lincoln keeping the union together, or Roosevelt forging the largest military machine in history to take out both Germany and Japan.

So Obama doesn't get credit for ending Iraq but Lincoln gets credit for keeping the union together? Both required thebwork of a number of people but Obama is different? DADT? No credit? Ending inhanced intorrogations? Expanding pell grants?

See you're going to dispute each one because you're looking an undisputable accomplishment. Lincoln didn't keep the union together...time were changing.

Undisputable accomplishments is a bar set that cannot be reached. Top that with "Bin Laden doesn't count" you've sealed your "arguement" to never have an acceptable answer.

Obama does not get credit for ending the Iraq war because he was forced to follow an agreement that Bush signed. Unless you can show me where Buchanen started the Civil War your protest makes no sense at all because the only one that is insisting that the accomplishments be indisputable is you. In fact, if you go back and read my posts, you might find I actually argued that Lincoln was wrong to start the war in the first place.

Everyone can agree that Obama simply followed Bush's timetable.....unfortunately he left Iraq in worse shape than Bush intended. Within days the radicals had taken back the governmment. The Vice president surround the President's home with tanks. Now everything we worked for is for naught. Al Qaeda has a foothold in Iraq again. I wouldn't be surprised if they even reopened their training camps. The only difference is Saddam and his sons are dead. You want to credit Obama with that too?

Is getting out of Iraq an accomplishment or not?

Only if you consider an organized surrender an accomplishment.

But I'm afraid many of my friends back at 5th Group are still in Iraq.

That's the way you choose to chatacterize it. It was a timetable that Obama was able to see through. Is that an accomplishment or are accomplishments only approved by you?

22. Created Conditions to Begin Closing Dirtiest Power Plants: New EPA restrictions on mercury and toxic pollution, issued in December 2011, likely to lead to the closing of between sixty-eight and 231 of the nation’s oldest and dirtiest coal-fired power plants. Estimated cost to utilities: at least $11 billion by 2016. Estimated health benefits: $59 billion to $140 billion. Will also significantly reduce carbon emissions and, with other regulations, comprises what’s been called Obama’s “stealth climate policy.”

23. Passed Credit Card Reforms: Signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act (2009), which prohibits credit card companies from raising rates without advance notification, mandates a grace period on interest rate increases, and strictly limits overdraft and other fees.

24. Eliminated Catch-22 in Pay Equality Laws: Signed Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009, giving women who are paid less than men for the same work the right to sue their employers after they find out about the discrimination, even if that discrimination happened years ago. Under previous law, as interpreted by the Supreme Court in Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., the statute of limitations on such suits ran out 180 days after the alleged discrimination occurred, even if the victims never knew about it.

25. Protected Two Liberal Seats on the U.S. Supreme Court: Nominated and obtained confirmation for Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic and third woman to serve, in 2009; and Elena Kagan, the fourth woman to serve, in 2010. They replaced David Souter and John Paul Stevens, respectively.

26. Improved Food Safety System: In 2011, signed FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which boosts the Food and Drug Administration’s budget by $1.4 billion and expands its regulatory responsibilities to include increasing number of food inspections, issuing direct food recalls, and reviewing the current food safety practices of countries importing products into America.

27. Achieved New START Treaty: Signed with Russia (2010) and won ratification in Congress (2011) of treaty that limits each country to 1,550 strategic warheads (down from 2,200) and 700 launchers (down from more than 1,400), and reestablished and strengthened a monitoring and transparency program that had lapsed in 2009, through which each country can monitor the other.

28. Expanded National Service: Signed Serve America Act in 2009, which authorized a tripling of the size of AmeriCorps. Program grew 13 percent to 85,000 members across the country by 2012, when new House GOP majority refused to appropriate more funds for further expansion.

29. Expanded Wilderness and Watershed Protection: Signed Omnibus Public Lands Management Act (2009), which designated more than 2 million acres as wilderness, created thousands of miles of recreational and historic trails, and protected more than 1,000 miles of rivers.

30. Gave the FDA Power to Regulate Tobacco: Signed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (2009). Nine years in the making and long resisted by the tobacco industry, the law mandates that tobacco manufacturers disclose all ingredients, obtain FDA approval for new tobacco products, and expand the size and prominence of cigarette warning labels, and bans the sale of misleadingly labeled “light” cigarette brands and tobacco sponsorship of entertainment events.

31. Pushed Federal Agencies to Be Green Leaders: Issued executive order in 2009 requiring all federal agencies to make plans to soften their environmental impacts by 2020. Goals include 30 percent reduction in fleet gasoline use, 26 percent boost in water efficiency, and sustainability requirements for 95 percent of all federal contracts. Because federal government is the country’s single biggest purchaser of goods and services, likely to have ripple effects throughout the economy for years to come.

32. Passed Fair Sentencing Act: Signed 2010 legislation that reduces sentencing disparity between crack versus powder cocaine possessionfrom100 to1 to 18 to1.

33. Trimmed and Reoriented Missile Defense: Cut the Reagan-era “Star Wars” missile defense budget, saving $1.4 billion in 2010, and canceled plans to station antiballistic missile systems in Poland and the Czech Republic in favor of sea-based defense plan focused on Iran and North Korea.

34. Began Post-Post-9/11 Military Builddown: After winning agreement from congressional Republicans and Democrats in summer 2011 budget deal to reduce projected defense spending by $450 billion, proposed new DoD budget this year with cuts of that size and a new national defense strategy that would shrink ground forces from 570,000 to 490,000 over the next ten years while increasing programs in intelligence gathering and cyberwarfare.

35. Let Space Shuttle Die and Killed Planned Moon Mission: Allowed the expensive ($1 billion per launch), badly designed, dangerous shuttle program to make its final launch on July 8, 2011. Cut off funding for even more bloated and problem-plagued Bush-era Constellation program to build moon base in favor of support for private-sector low-earth orbit ventures, research on new rocket technologies for long-distance manned flight missions, and unmanned space exploration, including the largest interplanetary rover ever launched, which will investigate Mars’s potential to support life.

36. Invested Heavily in Renewable Technology: As part of the 2009 stimulus, invested $90 billion, more than any previous administration, in research on smart grids, energy efficiency, electric cars, renewable electricity generation, cleaner coal, and biofuels.

37. Crafting Next-Generation School Tests: Devoted $330 million in stimulus money to pay two consortia of states and universities to create competing versions of new K-12 student performance tests based on latest psychometric research. New tests could transform the learning environment in vast majority of public school classrooms beginning in 2014.

38. Cracked Down on Bad For-Profit Colleges: In effort to fight predatory practices of some for-profit colleges, Department of Education issued “gainful employment” regulations in 2011 cutting off commercially focused schools from federal student aid funding if more than 35 percent of former students aren’t paying off their loans and/or if the average former student spends more than 12 percent of his or her total earnings servicing student loans.

39. Improved School Nutrition: In coordination with Michelle Obama, signed Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act in 2010 mandating $4.5 billion spending boost and higher nutritional and health standards for school lunches. New rules based on the law, released in January, double the amount of fruits and vegetables and require only whole grains in food served to students.

40. Expanded Hate Crimes Protections: Signed Hate Crimes Prevention Act (2009), which expands existing hate crime protections to include crimes based on a victim’s sexual orientation, gender, or disability, in addition to race, color, religion, or national origin.

41. Avoided Scandal: As of November 2011, served longer than any president in decades without a scandal, as measured by the appearance of the word “scandal” (or lack thereof) on the front page of the Washington Post.

42. Brokered Agreement for Speedy Compensation to Victims of Gulf Oil Spill: Though lacking statutory power to compel British Petroleum to act, used moral authority of his office to convince oil company to agree in 2010 to a $20 billion fund to compensate victims of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; $6.5 billion already paid out without lawsuits. By comparison, it took nearly two decades for plaintiffs in the Exxon Valdez Alaska oil spill case to receive $1.3 billion.

Want me to go through these one by one, or can we just admit that the entire article is a puff piece designed to make Obama look better than he is?

sure ...why not ... you have been right on one yet ... so have at it ...

He stopped the Bush Destruction.

The Bush Destruction was caused by the aggressive expansion of home ownership to non-creditworthy borrowers. The Right blames Jimmy Carter and his 1977 CRA for expanding home ownership to risky borrowers; however, the program did just fine for decades until Bush opened the floodgates on leveraging and securitization. Bush created a conveyor belt where mortgages of the poor were seamlessly converted into securities and derivatives . . . to the tune of trillions in profits for Wall Street. They made money off of risky garbage. And then... when it all blew up, Wall Street got bailed out, and they foreclosed on the middle class.

If there is any confusion on Bush's role in the housing bubble, please watch this video. He spells out his plan to remove all borrowing obstacles to low income borrowers. George Bush detonated a nuclear bomb over this country's economy. He destroyed the housing and credit markets.

Obama fixed the problem created by this

Here's one: he finally got his daughters the dog he promised, which he then proceeded to name after himself.

And another: he solved that pesky sequester cut from the White House funding by cancelling tours.

you take solendra ... one company out of many that failed and you hold it up as if it was the end ... then you dance it around as if it was all planed to fail... that Obama personally knew it was going to fail ... that Obama personally himself said here's the money ... it wasn't ... each and everyone of your responses really doesn't need an answer because they aren't factual ... they are nothing more right wing talking points that has never been factual... so have at it... make a bigger fool of yourself ...

It didn't have anything to do with Frank/Dodd's (lack of) oversight of Fannie/Freddie??????

He killed bin Laden, a feat that filthy little cocksucker from Tejas couldn't manage.

Next.

I am pretty sure that, even with bin Laden dead, Al Qaeda is still blowing things up. In other words, he didn't solve a problem.

This is what I was going to say. Someone also said he ended the Iraq war when in fact Bush ended it with the Iraq government not letting Obama stay there like Obama tried and wanted to do.

Did Obama end/win the war on terror? No...

I'd be willing to bet nobody can name one problem Obama has solved and actually back it up.

Obama is good at pointing out problems but he's never solved any. Many will claim that he got Bin Laden but in all honesty Bin Laden wasn't an active terrorist anymore.

Obama is a gifted complainer but not a gifted problem solver. These are some of the issues Obama has been talking about but none of them have gotten any better since he's been in office. As a matter of fact many of them have worsened:

1. Race relations
2. The Deficit
3. The National Debt
4. Increasing Health Care Costs
5. Increasing Tuition Costs
6. Dependence On Foreign Oil
7. Border Security
8. Iranian Nukes
9. Unemployment

Go ahead.....name something Obama has personally done to improve the situation. I dare you.

Why does the left seem to love despots like Hugo Chavez?

It's simple. He did it the way they want to do it here. He took over the media, he nationalized every business in Venezuela, the only industry they have there now is oil production. He ran every other business out, yet his people loved him. Why?

Because he did what Obama does, complained about problems that he himself caused making it look like he wasn't the cause of them in the first place. Because he owned the media they told the people what he directed them to. They rarely if ever went against his wishes.

The left loves it when people suffer. It's simply an opportunity to them. The more suffering they can cause the more they can blame on an invisible strawman. In this country it's "The Rich". It's like this in every communist country. The left longs for revolution. Their problem is once they have power they simply cannot improve on what they fought against. Obama sure as hell can't. He has no ideas, only criticisms.

How's it feel to be a loser so obsessed by a man who was elected twice as President? I may have voted for Obama, but I don't dream about him.

Bush is who you dream about.....that's kinda obvious....

There's a reason why Obama has released only 17 of the documents found in OBL's compound.

I didn't start off not liking Obama. I hated McCain so I liked that McCain lost as a "fuck you" to the liberal lite party that the Republicans had become. But Obama has accomplished so very little and made things worse in the process, yet there are people out there so blind with hate for Republicans they glorify Obama despite having all the same policies as Bush, not to mention not 1 single promise Obama made that means a chit has ever come to be.

Fuck, the Obama-bots used to claim Obama winning the NBPP before becoming President for something he had not even done yet was an accomplishment... The only accomplishment in that was people world wide asking wtf the meaning of the NBPP actually means.
