Statistically speaking, about 2-3% of the population in America publicly identifies as “gay”. That number doesn’t even take into consideration the percentage of “closeted” individuals (some estimate as high as 15-20% of the population).

Throughout United States history, about 1,343,812 soldiers have given their lives. If you take 1% of that number you’ll arrive at about 13,438 individuals in total. That was my thought process, and the "tens of thousands" was simply an educated guess.

Also to note, even if only 100 gay soldiers gave their lives fighting for this country Ed’s comment would still be just as sickening. He is a worthless, intellectually challenged individual.

Exactly what is it they want from the government that the rest of us don't get? Be specific.

Here is an example of being specific: A male/female married couple can file a married tax return. A male/male married couple do not get to file a married tax return if they get married. Therefore, heterosexuals get special treatment that gays do not get.
