Obama: America's 'Deeply Rooted' Racism Will Take Time To Tackle

Maybe someone in your party should ask that to a black person. They sure don't seem to like you guys for some reason.

probably has something to do with personal responsibility and treating each other the same....

Are you saying black people don't take personal responsibility? Because if I was black I'd be pretty pissed about that kind of blatant racism.

well if you look at the stats you would have to say no. If you look at the riots, you would have to say no. If you look at black on black crime you would have to say no. If you look at unemployment, no. If you look at single mom households, no.. on and on....
Stupid Violent *******.
Your desperation to appear controversial and grab attention by it, is very boring.
He responded, as I knew he would, and agreed.

I agree they are stupid and violent. The truth hurts.

Well thanks for working hard to hand all of their votes to the Democratic party then. Keep up the good work.

translation- I got nothing to say to the hard truth. Keep wallowing in the mud.

You really don't see it at all. I guess it's typical of the GOP. Please continue your attitude towards race.

Sincerely,
Every Democrat in America

Please continue to fall and be used for your vote for 50 years, only to be thrown aside with the swipe of a pen by a BLACK MAN for illegal hispanics! If you think your job outlook is bleak now! HHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA:321::afro::alcoholic:

I'm not black. But I AM glad you're generation will soon be gone from the face of the Earth.

The genre of Obama race speeches has always been bounded by the job he was hired to do. Specifically, Barack Obama is the president of the United States of America. More specifically, Barack Obama is the president of a congenitally racist country, erected upon the plunder of life, liberty, labor, and land. This plunder has not been exclusive to black people. But black people, the community to which both Michael Brown and Barack Obama belong, have the distinct fortune of having survived in significant numbers. For a creedal country like America, this poses a problem—in nearly every major American city one can find a population of people whose very existence, whose very history, whose very traditions, are an assault upon this country's nationalist instincts. Black people are the chastener of their own country. Their experience says to America, "You wear the mask."

It's sadly pathetic to watch ignorant racists try to blame blacks and Democrats for the racial divide.

He's an effing pompous blow hard moron. What a bunch of pointless gibberish that serves to do nothing except fan the flames of hatred. THIS is not the job of the president.
You can use "fucking".....
She can use "blowjob" better. For that you get a new dress.

Remember ladies, blowjobs are like flowers for men.
You can unfuck yourself now
Not while living here I can't.

What's sad is that you always have to post a quote from someone else then add your little "me to" one liner.

Are you capable of independent thought Lakhota?

I'm on an ignore binge today and you are right on the cusp.

Is there any reason to believe that you will in the future add ANYTHING worthy of discussion to threads? Regurgitating the thoughts of others with snide one line remarks doesn't count.

Please, little peckerwood dude - put me on your IGNORE!!!!! I beg you!!!!!

you know that it is white conservatives who donate more to charity than any other demographic, right? You know it was Rush and white conservatives who gave hundreds of thousands to the BLACK LADY whose business was burned down by LIBERAL BLACK THUGS, right?

truth hurts....

Obama: America's 'Deeply Rooted' Racism Will Take Time To Tackle

Even more, now that our first black President made it worse.

In the conservatives version of history I've personally heard spoken of many times, the slaves didn't really have it as bad as some say. No, they were given a place to live and a livelihood. They seem to interpret that movie, Song of the South, as if it was meant as a biographical depiction of how happy slaves really were.

No doubt, in this depiction of history, people who were trying to set the slaves free were rabble rousers who fostered race hatred by trying to disrupt an equitable system that provide the po' Black folk with a job and a home.

Do conservatives really think most people that that kind of tripe seriously? It only serves to make conservatives look like the racists other people say they are.

In the conservatives version of history....

Meanwhile, in the 21st Century, black idiots riot, and burn down businesses in their own community, because lies about their current "martyr" didn't result in the indictment of a cop.

You make it sound like conservatives are always the victims of lies and never the perpetrators of them. I know that to be the antithesis of reality after twenty years of listening to nonstop RW propaganda which has had about as much in common with the truth as the porn industry has in common with the celibate lifestyle. Put more plainly, my experience over that period is that conservatives unapologetically lie about everything under the sun all the time, and they do it with a straight face in order to further their agenda. They're not even embarrassed by it. I take no pleasure in it at all since I consider it wholly disheartening. With that said, if given a choice on who to believe in almost any dispute involving conservatives, I'm probably more likely to take the word of a devil-worshipping convicted criminal than I would be to take the word of someone who's an avowed conservative and who wears his belief in Jesus and his conservative Christianity as a badge of honor.

You make it sound like blacks and liberals are always the victims of lies and never the perpetrators of them.
I'm well acquainted with the lying nature of human beings having experienced it from many quarters over the years. Therefore, I don't wear rose-colored glasses seemingly like conservatives who seem to be of the opinion that their representatives are fundamentally more truthful than the opposition. In fact, I would strenuously argue the opposite.

With that said, I'm not so naive as to believe that all Democrats (I'm not a Democrat, by the way) are truthful anymore than I would ever argue that all Republicans are liars. It's just that I've learned from experience like the dog who gets sprayed by the skunk or stuck in the nose by the porcupine. That dog has learned his lesson, and I can assure everyone here that he won't be sniffing around any more skunks or porcupines in the mistaken belief that the first time was an aberration that can't or probably won't be repeated. As a consequence, I don't trust conservatives to be honest, truthful, or competent when it comes to governance.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is prescribing time and vigilance to tackle problems as entrenched in American society as racism and bias.

He also is urging patience, saying progress usually comes in small steps.

In an interview with BET, the president described his conversation with a group of young civil rights activists, including a leader of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, he hosted last week in the Oval Office.

Obama said he told them that "this is something that is deeply rooted in our society, it's deeply rooted in our history."

America has made gains, and that "gives us hope" of making more progress, he said.

"We can't equate what is happening now to what was happening 50 years ago," Obama said, "and if you talk to your parents, grandparents, uncles, they'll tell you that things are better, not good in some places, but better."

Obama said he is advising young people to be persistent because "typically progress is in steps, it's in increments.

President Obama is correct - but none of us will ever live long enough to see it end. I can't even imagine how it can or will end. Will it ever end before humans become extinct?
ROFL biggest racist POS in this country... lecturing us on racism.

Yep, only a fucking idiot would claim that Obama hasn't made things WORSE.

Pitiful to, that could have been his legacy to finally END the racism.

I mean seriously. how much good could he have done if ONE time he would have stood up in the White House and said " Look , in THIS instance, the black man was wrong to claim racism?"

And NO ONE is truly stupid enough to believe that in 6 years Obama simply hasn't seen an instance of black man claiming racism where none existed.
Democrats benefit from racism. Why would they want to end a good thing?

If that's true the GOP should be working hard to end racism. I wonder why they aren't?
What can they do to "end" racism? How do you propose they "end" the democrat party?
I'm not sure, but Obama gets blamed for not ending racism every other post on here.

So you tell us.

You know, this isn't the first time Obama has made some idiotic comments. Remember Cambridge? What a douche. Does he not understand that if you do not follow the law and fight with the police, then there is the potential that you will get hurt or worse? WHY doesn't he tell "His people" that? Lawbreakers! WTF? I'm not shedding any tears for those turds.

Really....that's what you see....you should rub your eyes then because you aren't describing American Conservatives...or as could also describe them "classical Liberals".....I'd like to know which conservatives have said this....it would be interesting reading from the fantasy genre....

Which does what for them?
At the end of the day with the black population dwindling at a faster rate than that of other races in the US, and the fact that blacks are no longer the second largest minority group, and the fact that blacks as a people have the lowest percentage of registered voters means their influence on statewide and national elections is not all that significant.
An example of this is none other than Ferguson, MO where in the last election only 11% of registered blacks bothered to vote.
Yet, they are the loudest complainers about how the elected members of their city and despite affirmative action policies that offer blacks a leg up in hiring for city jobs, employment of blacks is non representative of their population.
Another example is post Katrina New Orleans. Thousands of people of all skill levels were needed to help rebuild the city.
Very few resident blacks of New Orleans applied for jobs. Yet they and their mouthpiece Ray Nagin( now convict Nagin) bitched and moaned about "outsiders" coming to New Orleans and taking jobs away from black people.
No one in the complicit main stream media would dare ask Nagin why he never implored his residents to apply for work in the first place. NO.....They did not dare touch that one.
