Obama's 13 impeachable offenses

Impeachment has not removed one president and has been used only twice with the executive. It may not have been used more often because it can come back and bite the party impeaching. Apparently the American people are not too happy with a political party trying to remove a president, they elected, for acting like presidents act. The impeachment talk usually comes up with the stronger presidents, and a president that the opposing party believes the people are not totally behind.

In what universe is Obama considered a *strong* president?

Unless you think criminal is strong. Which most progressives do.

Confirming the fact that you and others on the partisan right are indeed reprehensible.
What's even worse is that they're intellectually inconsistent in their claim of loving the Constitution and protecting it from abuse since they would be willing to defend any conservative president from impeachment regardless of how clear the evidence was that he committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

This ^^ is what ignorant yahoos do when they can't address the topic.

They make stuff up.

Reagan's Iran/Contra debacle proved that's true. Hell, Reagan had Ollie North running a shadow gov't out of the basement of the WH, and conservatives turned Ollie into their de facto national hero and defended Reagan at every turn although it's clear that multiple laws were broken by many men working in concert at the highest levels of our gov't.

Wow, nutz, you were paying attention! Awesome!

I know there is a difference. You can know I know there's a difference because I'm the one who delineated it for you bozos.

so you want to impeach Obama and KEEP him in office , is that correct?

Likely so.

It’s an aspect of the derangement of the partisan right where they seek to ‘destroy’ the president’s legacy.

Well, it would confirm impeachment isn't what it was meant to be.

And that, at least in the way Republicans have used it, it would be a highly partisan procedure and essentially meaningless.

Well we have Obamacare among other things, how many presidents would have been capable of that?

As opposed to the partisan left that continues to seek to destroy Bush's legacy. :doubt:
As a Brit and a senior member of the Labour party, may I say that Bush's legacy is linked to Blair's. When the Chilcot report is finally released some seven years late, I am hoping there is still enough left in the letters and minutes to fry them both.Chilcot inquiry accused of whitewash over letters between Blair and Bush | UK news | The Guardian

Not acquitted. The Senate can't "acquit". All they can do is vote to not remove him from office. Clinton remained impeached...even though he wasn't removed from office.

Why do they call it a trial then?

The Senate today acquitted President Clinton on two articles of impeachment, falling short of even a majority vote on either of the charges against him: perjury and obstruction of justice.

You're welcome.

Oh and the removal from office vote comes after the trial, if found guilty, btw.........

Er..yes, I know that.

"In 1970, then-House Minority Leader Gerald R. Ford defined the criterion as he saw it: "An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."

"At the federal level, the impeachment process is a two-step procedure. The House of Representatives must first pass, by a simple majority of those present and voting, articles of impeachment, which constitute the formal allegation or allegations. Upon passage, the defendant has been "impeached".

Clinton was impeached.

He wasn't convicted of the charges for which he was impeached. But he was still impeached.

Impeach is the action by which the charges are brought.

They aren't the charges themselves.

Bushes record is his legacy.

That would include sitting in that classroom in Florida while America was under attack on 9-11.

That's something everyone should remember when the RW harps on wanting to know what Obama was doing during the attack on the compound in Libya.

Yes it's true, a president can be impeached by a simple majority vote in the House. Sorry I thought you said something like "The Senate can't "acquit". All they can do is vote to not remove him from office."

Oh wait, you did say that. Furthermore, only after a conviction can they actually vote to remove a president from office.

Well we don't have video but from the seemingly endless House testimony we know that upon hearing about the attack in Benghazi, President Obama immediately ordered his commanders to use every available DoD asset to protect Americans there.

That must be why the military is so fond of him. Cuz he's such a great commander in chief. Honorable, truthful, he really cares about our great nation, our citizens, our civil servants and our military.

"What is known about the night of the Benghazi attacks is that Barack Obama called Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at 10pm. Clinton issued a statement at 10:08pm that pointed to “inflammatory material on the internet” as being “blamed” by “some”. By 10:58pm, the Associated Press reported that the State Department said the “video” was responsible"

"
An array of Democrats — including Hillary Clinton’s allies — are meeting this week to hammer out a united front on national security issues, including a clear response to Republicans over the Benghazi controversy.
They see an opportunity to wrest control of a narrative that some allies fear could be damaging to Clinton if she moves ahead with a 2016 presidential campaign.
A major milestone in the effort will take place this Friday, when a coalition of Democratic-leaning groups and influentials converges at the headquarters of the centrist think tank Third Way for a briefing that includes top Clinton adviser Philippe Reines.
On Wednesday, it was learned that “Clinton’s allies” and “an array of Democrats” would be working toward a “united front” on Benghazi at a meeting to be held on Friday. Clinton’s secret lunch with Obama was sandwiched in between, on Thursday."
