[OFFICIAL] State of the Union Address Thread

If he would of kept it all Americans = win.

He lost when it broke us into groups.

what do you expect from the great divisionist? he thrives on playing one against the other

He is so not a divisionsist.

You guys are so brainwashed.

no he is a guy bringing the Country together.....under Bush this Country became pretty divided.....under Obama it has gotten even worse.....thats what happens when you get 2 piss poor leaders back to back....the reason you cant see that Hazel is because.....you just might be a little brainwashed yourself.........

If the Government set up a plan for people to deduct wages from their paycheck and pay into it that would be great. The Government does not hold it nor ever touches it.

When you die it all goes to family 100% tax free. The same Idea could be used for UE, but when you use it all up it's gone.

But I doubt that is the plan and in fact the idea of doing something like this on top of SS admits SS is a fraud and failing.

That's exactly how SS started out, it was separate from the general funds. It got so large, that it was too tempting of a target that it was included into the general fund and now become insolvent.

Since when?

How long has your head been in the sand? CBO and others predict SS will go bankrupt between 2027 and 2041. Just this year the tipping point occurred where there are now 1.07 people drawing from SS for every one contributing to it. It's untenable. WAKE UP!!!

Fmr. Presidential Speechwriter: Obama Plagiarized Bush's 2007 SOTU

"Barack Obama has gone from blaming George W. Bush to plagiarizing George W. Bush."

1.28.2014 |Bradford Thomas

On The Kelly File Tuesday, Former Presidential Speechwriter Marc Thiessen accused President Obama of plagiarizing the 2007 State of the Union speech he wrote for Bush, stating, “Barack Obama has gone from blaming George W. Bush to plagiarizing George W. Bush.”

...

Thiessen: Yeah, it was eerily familiar. There were lines like, “Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy. A future of hope and opportunity requires that all our citizens have affordable and available healthcare. Extending opportunity and hope depends on a stable supply of energy.” All of that came from the 2007 State of the Union Address by George W. Bush. So, Barack Obama has gone from blaming George W. Bush to plagiarizing George W. Bush.

Kelly: Did you the write that speech? Is that why it was familiar to you?

That's a pretty big span. And either year is more than a decade away.

Also the problem is pretty easy to fix.

It's not "untenable".

You wake up.

I wonder what we already pay those civilians (Who are in a Union) that do what privates used to do?

You know the ones he wants to pay $10.10 to..... I wouln't take the bet that they already make more than that.

There are grounds keeping contracts, janitors, etc. These contracts are a joke. There are contracts that have 10 gardeners tending a row of (4) shrubs...

Now contractors working in the technical fields are making good money

Inspiring stuff.

The right-wing will be on the war path with pathetic and weak talking points tonight and for weeks to come.

Instead of doing the work they were hired to do, they will continue to show their shitty work ethic and obstruct and do nothing.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid I'm not.

and the left will still be complaining about a traffic jam

That's like saying the right was complaining about a Cigar with Clinton. Or a spot on a dress with Clinton.

A spot? We call it... money shot... Lets call it like it is... Clinton, during a government shutdown, shot his wad on a young girls (Dems call them children) dress while in the workplace.

Most government employee's would be fired in a heartbeat for such behavior.

In a remarkably positive and nationalistic speech, Obama, without any hostilities toward congress (Which I didn't expect) delivered, what was, a very definite road map into getting America back on track. He also, in a very poignant way, expressed why it was necessary to wind down the war in Afghanistan and not commit to large deployments. Cory Remsburg, who was grievously wounded on his 10th (Count it..10th) time in Afghanistan, put squarely on display, the real human cost of this war.

The President also hit on some pretty good points about social mobility, even pointing out that John Boehner, the son of a bar keep, is speaker of the House. And he joked about not ever seeing eye to eye with Republicans on the ACA, while urging them to stop wasting time with votes to repeal.

He was specific. Positive. Energized and again offered an olive branch to his opposition.

Representative Cathy Rodgers, who did MUCH BETTER than all other Republican responders from previous Republican responses, was basically a "Hallmark Moment". She offered no specifics and basically said the same thing the President said, but in a nice way. Add in she was easy on the eyes.

He has been saying the same thing for 5 years. So why is this time any different?

It's not

This MYIRA plan of Obama's. Is is going to be another ACA? Is it code for ObamaTakesYourIRA?I don't trust any new initiatives by this wanker.

Is your 401K about to be nationalized?

WASHINGTON, February 3, 2013 ― The $19.4 trillion sitting in personal retirement accounts like the 401K may be too tempting an apple for a government that is quite broke, both monetarily and morally. The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau director Richard Cordray recently mentioned these accounts in a recent interview, stating “That’s one of the things we’ve been exploring and are interested in, in terms of whether and what authority we have.”
This agency, created by the 2010 Dodd-Frank-Act, is very concerned about how safe your retirement savings are. They are apparently concerned that retiring baby boomers may become victims of financial scams.

The BBC is reporting Obama as saying he will make Americans' incomes more equal by by-passing Congress and taking executive action. Is that true? Would it be constitutional?

it will be up to Congress to determine. One thing for sure, Obama could care less

Obama lied again.

He declared that Global Warming is real.......while folks are stuck in a massive traffic jam caused by a snowstorm in Atlanta.
